OP is clearly a troll. Another useless thread with no thought put into it. Exhibit A - Jennings a 2

Brett Stewart 7 Was safe, but didn't do anything brilliant
Jarryd Hayne 8 Was very good, showed why he was selected over the nuff nuff that is Brett Morris
Michael Jennings 6 Stupid sin binning in the first half cost us a lot of momentum, was excellent in the second
Josh Morris 7 Strong in defence, pretty quiet in attack
Aku Uate 6 Let in some tries (one when we were a man down) but otherwise was very good, making plenty of strong runs
Todd Carney 5 Nerves probably got the better of him
Mitchell Pearce 6 Pretty quiet
Paul Gallen 9 The guy is a MACHINE
Robbie Farah 8 Made some good inroads out of dummy half, missed his do or die play at the death though
James Tamou 8 Wow, amazing debut by the kid, really stepped it up. A big part of NSW dominance in the first 20
Luke Lewis 6 Pretty quiet
Glenn Stewart 6 See Lewis
Greg Bird 8 Made some big inroads, a pretty dodgy penalty on halftime cost us a crucial try though

Trent Merrin 6 Played okay, but a bonehead play gave Qld field position to score the winner
Jamie Buhrer 4 No game time, didn't have a chance to do anything
Tony Williams 7 Was a handful every time he touched the ball, with some match fitness, and hopefully more game time will be even better for the run
Ben Creagh 4 Didn't see much game time, barely noticed him

How they rated: NSW
Michael Cowley - SMH
May 24, 2012 - 1:05AM

1\. Brett Stewart
Rock solid in defence and returning kicks, and tried to inject himself into the attack whenever possible. Sound not brilliant. 7.

2\. Jarryd Hayne
Didn’t want to be a typical winger. He wanted to get involved whenever he could, going infield to look for the ball regularly. Defensively very sound. 8.

3\. Michael Jennings
Tested the theory that a player can’t get sin-binned or sent off in Origin theory and failed. When he was on looked continuously dangerous in attack and his defence was good. 7.

4\. Josh Morris
Defensively he was very good, but he didn’t find a lot in attack. 6.

5\. Akuila Uate
Made a few bad calls in defence, but hard to criticise his work with the ball. Made good metres each time he had the ball. 6.5.

6\. Todd Carney
Maybe David Carney would have been more influential. Didn’t have a great night, with a couple of notable errors — dropped ball and failing to find touch from a penalty — costly. 5.

7\. Mitchell Pearce
His kicking game was OK, steered the team around well, and did a lot of work in defence, but needed to give some more in attack. 6.5.

8\. Paul Gallen ©
The usual captain’s knock we expect from Gallen. Enormous workrate, always putting up his hand up for a hit-up, made 210 metres, and was relentless in defence. 8.

9\. Robbie Farah
Was strong early, making good metres out of dummy half. His kicking game was also good and defensively he was outstanding. 8.

10\. James Tamou
Looked promising early on causing Queensland many problems, but drifted out of the game later. 7.

11\. Luke Lewis
A typical blue-collar worker performance. Made lots of tackles and tried to get involved as much as he could, but didn’t add a lot in attack. 6.

12\. Glenn Stewart
Another workhorse in defence, and tried late to add some spark to the attack. Did nothing wrong, but maybe could have given more in attack. 6.

13\. Greg Bird
Bird is made for Origin. Revels in the contest and along with Gallen, is Mr Reliable for the Blues. 8.

Interchange
14\. Jamie Buhrer
Only got around 10 minutes, and spent that time at dummy half. No real impact. 4.

15\. Ben Creagh
Did nothing wrong, but perhaps Anthony Watmough might have been a better option. 5.
\
\
16\. Tony Williams
Was supposed to be the big impact player for the Blues off the bench, and while he was big, didn’t have much impact. 5.
\
\
17\. Trent Merrin
Was the best off the bench for NSW, and must be considered for a start in game two. 6.5.

17 players, 4 of them got an 8, Farah was one of them. He'll be there for game 2.

I liked what I saw from pearce today, he stood up physically and played with decent control. Loved the way he put a couple on Thaiday's chin.

I liked what I saw from Tamou, played really well.
I think the SMH was hard on Tony Williams.

Our man Robbie was outstanding, makes you wonder why we picked Ennis for the last 7 origins. I reckon we will see Robbie play there for the next 5 years and finish his career with a rep record that he deserves.

On the other side of the ledger Carney was very disapointing and G Stewart, who Im a massive fan of, underperformed.

I was surprised with Hayne actually, he really hasn't been in good form, appeared to be playing injured at the Eels, but he was really good last night.

Disagree with Cowley's comments for T-Rexx though, I thought he had plenty of impact but certainly looked underdone. He'll be really good by the time Game 2 comes around. Reckon he would have scored if Robbie had passed that ball in the 2nd half rather than Buhrer throwing it at his boot laces.

No one could tackle T Rex…..he was bumping peeps off left, rightband centre.

And Pearce deserves a 9.5 for putting one on third man in Thaidays chin......play of the day!

I loved Gallens comment to the ref when Jeenings got binned....."but Thaiday's been doing it for years".....

Summed it up nicely!

And how bad was Carney????

How does he get a pass…..didn't do anything right all game.

Played like a complete muppet.

3/10.

He was the weakest link.

For me or i how i noticed it anyway.

BEST:
NSW - Farah, Tamou, Hayne, Gallen, bird
QLD - Scott, Inglis, Smith, Hannant, Tate

Worst:
NSW - Carney, Creagh, Buhrer
QLD - Hodges, Taylor

Notables; Thirdman thaiday - played well, luke lewis - almost seemed missing all game,

not sure how myles got MOTM, i didn't see him doing much (not saying he didnt, just my perception) thought TATE should of got it for sure.

1\. Stewart- was solid, didn't let anyone one down but at the same time didn't do anything extraordinary.

2\. Hayne - was fantastic as always. Has been just about NSW best player throughout a series each time he's played. Only criticism I have of both wingers is how far they came in to make ineffective tackles on the ball players.

3\. Jennings - justified Rickys faith in him IMO. At least he landed one I guess, other than that dumbest of dumb sin binnings.

4\. Morris - I don't know if it's my tiger bias or not but I believe Lawrence would of stepped up more than Morris did. He just seems like one of those players who just can't step up to the next level.

5\. Uate - needs to stay on his wing in D. I think he'll feature in the NSW backline for many years to come.

6\. Carney - Very disappointing. Was never in the game from the get go. Not sure if it was nerves but hoping to see a lot more from him in game 2.

7\. Pearce - solid performance and very impressive. His defensive efforts were tough and he stepped his game up as required for origin. Showed real leadership.

8\. Gallen - it's hard to knock the bloke but I think we need 2 real props on with gallen at lock.

9\. Farah - couldn't of been more pleased with his performance. Robbie was outstanding last night.

10\. Tamou - shocked me a little bit. I didn't think he'd be half as good as what he was. Probably NSW best forward.

11\. Stewart - crabbed sideways a bit. I'd be looking for a more direct approach from him in game 2.

12\. Lewis - I'm a huge Luke Lewis fan. But can't seem to remember him making all that much impact. Happy to be corrected

13\. Bird - Same performance we've come to expect from Bird at this level.

14\. Merrin - Surprised me a bit too. Didn't look too bad once he got on.

15\. Buhrer - we picked him why?

16\. Creagh - Not sure if it was the beers or his performance but it wasnt memorable. Happy to be corrected of wrong.

17\. Williams - Very underdone. I don't think he should of played having sat out for so long. Looking forward to seeing him get some game time under his belt.

I think the game was lost in our bench or lack of it. Only one prop and a Buhrer? Would of loved to have had Mullen on the bench last night to inject him when carney struggled. If I were picking the side I'd go with woods and Tamou up front with gallen going back to lock where he can then push up front if required. Might be my tiger tinted glasses but I'd also take a punt on rowdy in the centers, I really think he'd step up.

Yeah I thought Williams was suprisingly strong and effective given his lack of recent game time. On a sidenote from the Gallen thing, part of the problem was the refs letting Qld get away with niggling tactics and throwing the ball at people which is what really started the blue in the first place. Having said that, even watching it live, Jennings looked like a bit of a turkey the way he ran in and threw a haymaker.

From what I saw also, Josh Morris tanked it big time.

I thought he marked GI superbly. Greg had a fairly quiet game…mainly due to Josh

Dunno Stryker. He missed GI first up a lot. Yeah he's big and it happens to a lot of players but it made Uate worried about leaving them one-on-one and that created the overlap for the opening two tries.

Doesn't Morris usually play on the left for the Bulldogs? Swapping sides is a dangerous ploy in the pressure of Origin IMO. Uate just needs to learn to stay out on his wing no matter what and trust that the inside man will do his job

Maybe you should read the post more carefully, because it says "halftime ratings", and based on Jennings first half where he got binned and made a couple of errors, I would give him no more then a 4 based on his first half.

stewart: 6- needed more support play.
hayne:8- bloody good game tonight. perfect for a winger
jennings:6- brain explosion, errors, letting tate go to the short side. however looked dangerous in attack, needs to concentrate more
morris: 7- solid. couple of defensive error that the coach needs to address
carney: 6- needs to get more involved, the penalty goal and the touch finder.. bad kicks. lacked concentration.
pearce: 8- solid.
tamou: 9- awesome game, big stats.. cant see any probs with him.
farah: 9- flawless game.. apart from the last kick out on full, but cant blame him. good in attack, refs let qld lay in the tackle for an eternityy, they really need to adress that and if they do, robbie off the quick PTB will fire up
gallen: 8- solid. needs a rest. played 80, made 200 m. put someone like mannah on the bench instead of creagh, he will make 80m atleast. idk why you play someone for 80 and another for 10\. stupid imo.
stewart: 7- idk if it's his fault or the playmakers but idk why they kept giving him the ball on the right. he needs to run back inside and let the fullback be the third man.
lewis: 6- didnt see him out there much. not his best imo.. needs to run more decoys back inside like stewart, none of the second rowers were doing that tonight, making it easier for qld to scramble.
bird: 9.5- BRILLIANT ! didnt try n milk any penalties.. good.

buhrer, creagh: ineffective no point rating
merrin: 7- made a couple of good runs. keep him.
williams: ineffective, shoves people off, doesnt break the line. needs to run straight.
