Origin Selection, who has potential so far?

Sorry none of our players are good enough to play state of origin.
Now let me explain, I don’t want them playing rep games , I want us at full strength while others are weak , and we can march on to the finals , that we have missed for years .

I know Iam been greedy , but after 3 spoons and a better season last year , I really want to see us play in the finals . lol 🤔😳

Maybe Api, maybe Sam. It'll take someone to go to another level to be considered. And that we do not have an x-factor is probably why we can't be taken seriously just yet. Plenty of guys that are good but there are no game breakers in this team.

Outside of Harry maybe, no hooker creates as much as Api from dummy half. He hasn’t got his flowers in a losing team but that should change now.

Assuming we keep winning and keep getting the 50/50s eg. Fainu winning short kicks back for us, forwards making crucial errors eg. Jack Williams' two drops, Jackson Ford playing a ball to no one, Matthew Lodge being on the field period, and Tavana getting disrupted.

That said we should win today based on home ground advantage and being equal 1st would brinf even more attention 🤞

Looking at the upcoming draw, (broncs, raiders, sharks, storm, eagles) frankly I'd be happy if they leave us alone..

Meanwhile, back in 2005, the Mighty Weststigers were not required to provide any players during the SOO season, which NSW won 2-1. Back then, of course, we were placed around midfield in 10th and dropped to 12th in Round 15 & 16 before rising to 10th in Rd 17, never looking back until the miracle GF.

I'm thinking Samuela will be picked for the bench experience (ex U/19 Blues blood) & lack of form (injury) to Martin.

We don’t play well at , the goat track

The fact I think Twal could be a bolter proves we lives in a simulation. He’s just about the form forward in the comp.
Much as I would rather not risk our players in origin, I know it is a great achievement to make the team. Could you imagine if Twal actually got selected & bagged a try, I would lose my mind !!

Api is an out and out origin player, just needs a coach who is smart enough to use his strengths at that level.
It's not so much that I don't think Api could do a very good job. I think if choosing to play a certain style he would arguably be the first picked. However in my opinion Brailey and Robson are significantly better defensive options and Brailey provides a lot of spark around the ruck. He doesn't have Apis creativity but still offers a lot of traditional dummy half attacking footy that is easier to mesh into a team then Apis jack in a box style.

Samuela Fainu deserves a mention but the back row for NSW is pretty stacked

Im of the opinion the NSW backrow has been there weak spot and should be wide open. Martin and Crighton out for me.
Preston, Lucas, Fainu and Young as possible replacements.

The team needs an injection of new blood. At the start of this year I would have even dropped Clearly, and gone with 2 new halves, but Katoa and Strange haven't been setting the world on fire. So Cleary has to stay even though I believe he cant play Origin.

I don't think Clearly can play origin as well

He lacks that creativity under the faster pace of Origin doesn't he. It showed again with the Bulldogs game on Thursday, he really struggles if the speed of the game and offside defence disrupts his sides structure. Thats why I say he cant hold a candle to Johns and Thurston. Top player and will have an amazing record that should be applauded, but all time great number 7? No way.

If Cleary is the 7 then Brailey has to be the 9. Cleary needs very sharp service from dummy half to give him a bit more time and Braileys service is phenomenonal

I think olakuatu has played 1 good game all year . Angus is off to rugby so he shouldn’t get it , and Martin is injured . Preston and young … and kolomantamgi is a middle these days. He really should be in the 22 man squad at least .
Yes but you know how much Daley and co love to pick incumbents, whether they’re in form or not. Easts have had one good game now so no doubt half of their players will be selected.

Johns the best then daylight then Thurston

Clearly needs his dad's play book 📚 that's why I rate Moses over Clearly as much as the dislike Moses he can do it on his own anytime anywhere

Realistically I dont think any come in. Would love Twal and Sam Fainu, Doueihi to at least be in the conversation. Was expecting some big things from Taylan May but injuries have spoiled that.

Pretty happy for none to be picked though

Maybe the water boys make it but everyone else no

But would love for Big Mak to get called into the squad as one of those future Origin players extra man experience would be great for him
