Our Biggest Test So Far

A team that is underachieving hugely thus far. They are getting desperate now after losing 4 in a row and will look to us with a weeks break to put their season back on track. Will be a tough test for JT against his old club and a team that will be aching for a win. We will need to play nothing short of our best. C'mon Tigers slaughter the rorters! :sign:

True… But I wouldn't have it any other way... Prefer to play against the best...

Will be a big mental hurdle for our boys to overcome the Roosters. When was the last time we beat them? My shoddy memory can only recall 2005 as being the last time we beat them. Surely it hasn't been that bloody long?

Big hard fast pack usually brings us undone. We will be competitive but I doubt we will win. I still think our defense is a issue against big mobile forward packs but it is getting better

Last time we beat Easts was round 20 2011 at Leichhardt, we won 19-12

the team is very different to the one that played in say 2012.

teddy, moses, brooks, simona, richards, naiqama, sue, lovett etc. all new faces.

dunno if that will be in their minds, except as motivation.

the hardest part will be beating such a talented team thats going to be super desperate not to lose 5 in a row rather than overcoming our 'bogey' team.

Thanks Pierre. Is that game in 2011the only time we have beaten them since '05? We have a hideous record against them, about time we reversed that.

I recall we beat them round 1 several years ago on a Friday night. I think Marshall threw a flick pass for a Moltzen try. We won like 30-20ish.

No worries & ohh no not the only time since 05 but our most recent win against them, they have been one of our bogey sides last few years.

They certainly are in some kind of slump. With their roster they should be killing it, but like Canterbury, they seem to be playing lethargic. I would rather that they won yesterday, tbh - I hate it when my team is up next against a team that is desperate for a win, especially one with such obvious talent all over the park!

Bad week to be playing the Roosters but i think our squad is a good one to beat them.

They dont seem to have a lot of agility and speed off the mark. The team is full of big tall units or short chunky ones, both need time to wind up.

We have the nippy hustle and bustle types to put them under pressure.

Canberra beat Souths today who you would think should have been fired up after their loss last week to sharks.

I was there too in the grandstand… From memory we were down 12-8 at one stage & came back to win 19-12.

we better beat them… sick of losing to them.

pierre, wasnt that the game with ryan at fullback and we lost in the dying seconds?

they certainly are a bogey team for us

On top of that, in the past a quality team in a slump would come up against us, win by 30 and then go on a run of 5+ wins

But this year we'll win cos this year's different!

(I hope)

Mid-season grand-final for us.

Playing a desperate team coming off the back of successive losses. We just gotta play exactly like we did against the Dogs. Make them work coming out of their 20, control the ball, starve them of repeat sets (no penalties) show them we aren't afraid of getting into a grind but will do it on our own terms.

Work RTS over (he is still getting used to playing FB) and attack them through the ruck.

RTS more than anything. Widdop and Marshall showed how to contain him regardless of whether it was wet or dry. Brooks and Moses will need to be just as clinical as they were last Friday to put them down there and continually apply pressure. Will also be a big week for Dela Hoeter if picked who will have the assignment of marking Jennings
