Our new home ground??

I think it's a great idea. After going to skilled park on the gold coast last week, something similar to that in Western Sydney would suit us to a tee.
If we had a purpose built rectangular ground, that's easily accessible by public transport then I see no reason why our membership numbers wouldn't match those of Souths and Brisbane.

I've said for a while I'd love to see Campbelltown get a huge upgrade to be brought up to the same size and standard as Gold Coast or Newcastle stadium. It's right on the train line, has the Leagues Club on site, and ample space around the existing stadium to expand. They could keep the existing athletics track and maybe add in a High Performance Centre… Governments love that.

Campbelltown will be very highly unlikely to get an upgrade. Too remote.

A stadium in Liverpool is still probably too far from where the club's core fan base is. Simliar for the WSW (for whom Parramatta is the only possible choice).

The club suffers from the problem that we are called Wests, so one would think we should be based in Western Sydney, yet a majority of our fans live in the inner west, and playing too far away would alienate them.

If Campbelltown can start consistently getting 15-20k crowds we might see some changes.

In the right conditions Happy. It was absolutely ridiculous scheduling a game on the Gold Coast at this time of year at that time of day.

I had good seats goddammit and wasn't moving come hell or high water 5 of the 8 in our group did to all parts of the stadium LOL

The thing was though ,I'd been fishing that morning and there was a beautiful breeze on the water

I grew up in Balmain and now life in South West Sydney. Liverpool is right in soccer heartland and would suit WSW more than the Parramatta area does, yes some of there supporters from the hills way will be upset but they have far greater support in the Liverpool/Fairfield region. It is also a relatively short distance from Campbelltown.

Ideally is the stadium is built we should build a centre of excellence next door, has anyone see the GWS facilities they are amongst the best in the country and a miles ahead of our facility at Concord. AFL has got heaps out of our state government and federal government it is about time the NRL got some facilities built for them and their clubs in Sydney. The NRL should get together with FFA to lobby hard for this.

Ideally for us the stadium would be at Campbelltown but I believe that WSW (who along with us and the dogs would be the most likely tenants) are far more inclined towards the Liverpool area.

If it is built we should have access to one of Sydney's largest and quickest growing region.
I think if it is an impressive as the design looks my inner city friends will make the journey to watch the might Wests Tigers play.

Won't be the old Oasis site ,they have other plans for that. Needs to be near a railway and exit to M5 or M7\. Any ideas?

My sister scored sponsor's tickets so the seats were alright. She was keen on moving behind the posts into the shade, but I wasn't. We were on the 10m line towards our try line in the first half. Made it onto the tv a few times. You can see empty seats and me going nuts in my tigers jumper.
It was a bit more bearable in the second half, sure was a good way to sweat out a hangover haha.

this stadium wont be made before 2020-2022\. Im sure we could work something out with ANZ to make it a 8 year contract, or else just wait 2 years before moving into this one.

If the Balmain side folds it would make sense to have half the home games at Campbelltown. No offense but the yuppies who have taken over the Balmain area couldn't care less about footy - besides Leichhardt Oval has always been a prick of a place to get to let alone find parking.

I don't think that will happen as Leichhardt games attract crowds. I also know many if the sponsors of the club much prefer games at Leichhardt.

The team likes playing there and the opposition hate it and that is why the win ratio is good at LO. Considering the more games you win the better you go i say it is an advantage. BTW many of us yuppies love the joint and try parking out the front of any other nrl suburban ground and find a good spot that you can get out of quickly!!

Just going back to the OP. I'm not sure if anyone took the time to check out the article. Apparently the stadium can move away from the grass/field section to accommodate concerts and the like. It looks like there's a huge concrete abyss right at the end of the field to achieve this. Just seems a little wasteful and looks kind of stupid.
