Our problem is ........

1\. We don't give ourselves room close to the opposition line, we throw balls with no intended target, but for the sake of someone catching it and crashing over, 50% of the time we drop it.

2\. We don't hold down in tackles. In tonight's game Melbourne had no worries with quick play the balls. Tip Tigers, go 3 or 4 in a tackle, twice in a set you'll kill the oppositions momentum.

3\. We don't put the opposition player down. You'll find many times, two on one and we struggle.

4\. Like the last time we played Souths, Lote didn't have to catch a bomb. Tonight against Melbourne we don't attack Koros wing when we had the chance to shatter his confidence. What do we do, allow him to score twice before we bomb him. Just take a note from other teams when Koro played for us. They went for the kill an he wouldn't recover.

5\. We must average 1 per game getting pushed out over the sideline. 99% of the time it's avoidable, but we keep flirting with the sideline. When are they going to learn that their being sucked in.

6\. Why after we make a break we get caught most of the time, with a player deciding to go himself all the way. Even in traffic if you have support, toe it through like Saints did to us last week, these are the chances they should take, but rarely do.

7\. We only offload when we're leading, when we fall behind, offloads are rare.

8\. Why not put the bomb up and crunch Slater tonight, ok penalty given, but damage could be done.

9\. Always taking poor options. Tonight we get a penalty right on half time and we go for goal. Even if we kicked it, no damage to Melbourne, but going for the try and scoring could have been a turning point.

10\. I was at the game and our crowds are silent. I could hear both teams talking. Advantage Melbourne. Grand stand starts booing Refs at the end of the game. Just shut up and go.home, you had your chance.

11\. Farah Woods Farah close to the line, is that all we have.

12\. Start some biff if opposition keep slowing down our quick play the balls, it works for them.

Good points….

Our problem is we currently have a spare parts backline which has;
1\. A rookie fullback (Moses) whose best position by far is 5/8.
2\. At least two very slow forwards playing centre/wing.
3\. A winger (Lulia) who is not quite 1st grade level.
4\. A 5/8 (Austin) who because of our current circumstances would be of much better use playing as fullback or centre for the rest of the season.
5\. A halfback (Sironen) who is really a second rower and is too slow as a halfback.

Anybody with any suggestions on how to improve our current plight would be most welcome. Please contact Mick Potter urgently.
