I am pretty disgusted by media reports that Packer & Reynolds left the ground at half time. Madge was unaware until told by the media and made a phone call which confirmed it. Apparently the reason they gave Madge was.....we were cold. Keep walking you overpaid princesses.

These two forgot that Wests Tigers fans would have made a long trip to Brookvale and watched the match in the cold for a much longer time than these two overpaid and selfish players. Disgusting act.

Reynolds and Packer aren’t getting picked because they’re hopeless. It’s their own fault. What sort of an example is it to younger players when you see two of the highest paid, most senior players in the team leave at half time because it’s cold?

They’re both idiots and I can’t wait wait until they’re gone from the club forever.

Yeah I'm with you. I know they aren't technically required to be there, but I'm old school with stuff like that.

One in, all in - they are senior players and should be there for the full game or not at all.

It's not even the kind of thing they should need to have a rule for, it's just bloody obvious that if you're being paid as a player you turn up and support your teammates. Getting paid $15K a week and they can't stay for 80 minutes of footy, it's pathetic.

What i find interesting after a comeback WIN against the Odds that these players leave and show what little support they have for there fellow team mates.
Its like watching the game and you turn off the TV at half time although the thought did cross my mind only to find out later that you missed a comeback win.

As for Phil Slothfield i have seen him on NRL360 and he must be the most ill informed journalist that always seems to argue with other commentators and discuss the negatives.
I actually turn off that segment till he is gone.

They did not break the rules and they missed the celebrations later, sounds like we have found our Moles within the team leaking stories to the media.

It's no wonder we can't off load them.

Two of Wests Tigers’ highest paid players abandoned their side at halftime during the epic win over Manly. Their excuse to coach Michael Maguire needs to be seen to be believed.

The Wests Tigers staged the comeback of the year to beat Manly on Saturday night after being abandoned by their two highest paid players at halftime.

News Corp Australia can reveal five-eighth Josh Reynolds and front-rower Russell Packer both walked out of Brookvale Oval with their team trailing 20-12 at the break.

In an incident that will infuriate fans at the underperforming club, Reynolds on $850,000-a-year and Packer on $750,000 left the players dug out at halftime and headed straight to their cars.

Their pathetic excuse to coach Michael Maguire on Sunday morning was that they were feeling cold.

Injured utility Michael Chee Kam also left the venue.

Trailing 32-18 with just 12 minutes to go, the Wests Tigers scored three late tries to grab a stunning victory which presumably the absent players listened to on their car radios.

Their disappearance caught Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire by surprise when first contacted by News Corp Australia on Sunday morning.

In the excitement of a desperately needed victory, Maguire had no idea they had left.

It was only when News Corp Australia sent him a photo from Fox Sports cameras in the Wests Tigers dressing room at fulltime that he realised they had gone home.

He then rang the two players to find out why.

“You’re right, they left,” McGuire said, “Look there’s no hard and fast rule they have to be at games.

“Russ was our 19th man and Josh came to be around the boys.

“However I understand from a perception point of view what you’re thinking.

“They didn’t really give me a reason – they just said they were cold and wanted to go home.”

The players declined to comment.

“I’ve spoken to Josh and Russell and they have nothing to say,” Mimis said.

Neither of them have broken any club rules.

Other players outside the Wests Tigers starting 17 were in the dressing sheds at fulltime to celebrate the remarkable victory with the starting players.

The selfish attitude of Packer and Reynolds says a lot about the Wests Tigers culture.

A club that wants to axe a club legend like Benji Marshall who busts his backside for the team each week yet allows their highest paid players walk out on the team during a game.

This is a playing group claiming to be “walking on eggshells” from the tough demands of Maguire and his coaching staff.
