How come people always ignore the results Pascoe has delivered with regards to financials? We were dead in the water before he arrived. Another bad CEO like Mayer could have seen us going under. His biggest goal was stability in administration which he has largely achived.

To all the people who say Pascoe should have vetoed Cleary and Egan, is that really how you want a club to be run? The CEO of a football club normally doesn't know jack about football besides the basics. And so they shouldn't. They are meant to be business-people. That is literally why we have a recruitment manager, head coach, board members and whoever else in those departments. Those people have seen it all and are meant to be the brains of the organisation. In terms of those departments: Cleary is gone, replaced by Maguire (improvement). Kelly Egan was let go, replaced by Adam Hartigan (great track record, improvement). Not sure what is happening on the board, but we do have a new chairperson, Lee Hagipantelis, who by all accounts is an extremely positive influence on the club.

Let me take you back to a time where we had a CEO (Steve Humphries) running behind everyone's back and giving out handshake deals which were eventually reneged on. Before Pascoe and Go, we were an amateur organisation. Their work can't be discredited.

Ok , the first time the team has made a profit ever . Did it the last 2 years .
- The COE . People have been dribbling about this for 20 years . He got it done .
-restructure of the whole organisation that was , completely busted . Including employing quality people not , ex footballers who were mates of mates, with debatable skill levels at whatever field they were in .
- the removal of one Isaac Moses from having a stranglehold over the club, which as we saw collapsed us .
negatives
- employed a highly sought after coach , who he had a strong relationship , who screwed him over , and the club .
- made a really poor judgment to divulge the fact we were offering a ambassador role to our club legend upon retirement. Against the rules if you declare it before it happens .
-Probably let go someone who you guys are friends with , so now you moan 24/7 about how crap he is because you have a vested interest.

And the appointment of someone who actually wants to do the hard yards and put pathways in place , that people like Taylor and Potter and Cleary got rid of . Ie. St Greg’s , NZ scholarships etc .

I think Ivan is aided by COVID this year. All the talent in his young players is realised as they are applying themselves due to not being able to go anywhere. Received a shot across the bow when Cleary was sanctioned and are now towing the line. Plus winning a few games early to keep them motivated. If COVID opens up before the finals I would like to see the wheels fall off but I think they are too far advanced

Many posts assuming a CEO has to be perfect or awful. Most of them get some things right and some things wrong, JP no exception.
On the balance of things has done fairly well imo, but far from perfect and some of his mistakes are rather large.

Pascoe is not without fault. Yes, we can definitely give him a bit of curry over the Farah ambassador role which I am 100% of the belief now he will not repeat. He made a choice to give a coach full control of his roster which said coach butchered and left us high and dry. The only thing he is guilty of there is allowing his personal friendship to Cleary cloud his business judgement.

There's things he has sat on like making a decision on a permanent home.

But I believe he and the board (current and previous,) have put some hard yards into getting the club solvent and attractive to sponsors. They have lobbied hard for the COE which as @Strongee said was a pipe dream for years. Managed to find a suitable replacement for Cleary, hired a recruitment manager who was a part of the Roosters successful system.

He's managed to do things every other CEO before him hasn't.

Absolutely agree. I'm just not sure we have. Getting a suitable training facility shouldn't be marked as a great achievment. That's a basic necessity.

Really? What makes you think winning games is an indication that WT is a successful NRL club. It may not be a priority to anyone else in the organisation apart from most of the players and the coaching staff?
If the last 21 years is a reflection of the next 21then buckle up.
What exactly went wrong with Ivan? Why won’t he apologise for his unprofessional behaviour? The players didn’t know he had jumped off the bus until they got a text message. Gosh, some of them may have thought it was a joke?

True, but the five or six guys before Pascoe couldn't get it over the line. They couldn't get the club solvent. They couldn't attract sponsorship the to level we do now.

It's all falling into place slowly. If the one field performances reflected what we were doing off the field I am not sure we'd be having these discussions about Pascoe's ability as a CEO.
