what's the point in developing juniors like this kid and TMM etc?

This is the question. We are the feeder team for when the Storm come calling.

You'll get Happy rejoicing how Dale Copley would be a good buy when in fact he is not good enough for the Broncs, not good enough for the Roosters but great for us.

The point of developing juniors is so we can keep the ones that we want to keep.
Like Teddy Woods Moses Brooks Suli Liddle Ava Sue Lawerence Nofa Felese etc.
Then is we produce more star players then we need, we can pick the eyes out of the and let the rest go.

Carlaw came from Melbourne via Balmain.

Papenhuyzen will now be Melbourne's to develop as Slater's replacement. Who do we have now?

He would've been years off anyway, not a solution for next year.

I'll be surprised if he plays FG. At the same age he's not in Tedesco's class.

 why did we let Storm sign Ryan Papenhuyzen go? Isnt he a fullback? Must be ok if they wanted him.

We had Tedesco at the time, is probably the reason.

Paps is an exciting talent but probably hasnt developed (both physically and in terms of his game) as many hoped.

Wont be ready for firsts for a while.

Let paps go to Melbourne for a couple of years to develop then sign him if he turns out okay.

You have absolutely no idea how much money was involved in the deal and yet you're prepared to label this a "very poor decision" by management. You're just a management hating muppet.

Bellamy is a highly successful coach with an eye for talent. If a large offer has been made he has a good reason for making it. Apparently our mob have difficulty understanding this, but when the club is overflowing with quality outside backs such as Rankin, Hunt and Kev N some may be more forgiving,

This is very disappointing to lose such a promising junior. You hit the nail on the head as we are very light on outside backs. We have so much money wasted in rankin, kev, hunt and these guys are just not first grade material. Being a youngster he doesnt have to play fullback, he can be started on the wing and transitioned into fullback in fhe future. We really need another centre and a speedy winger. We had one but the storm took him aswell.

None of those players are signed for next year or beyond so they had nothing to do with this decision. We are not "wasting" any money on them next year. Melbourne offered him an opportunity and a clear path to a first grade spot in his preferred position. We were not in a position to do that because we are clearly looking to invest heavily in Tedesco. Not everything is a bloody failure on the part of the club…

ANYmoney spent on those three is wasted,

His body can't stand up to Holden cup at the moment, how would he go in the NRL. Surely one of the forum members has a talented 7yo we could send out to play

Watched this bloke a few weeks ago. Lolly legs. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Why is it that we only hear about these "future stars" only once they sign elsewhere?

so, you form an opinion after watching this bloke once? Tell us, what are your credentials?
You must be a better judge than Bellamy, Ponissi & the Melbourne recruitment team!

Keyboard warrior, that's what you are
