Yes there are quotas for both mens and womens swimming events:

Max 2 athletes per individual event and Max 1 relay team per event - so can't win the gold, silver and bronze - just 2 max.

This is the best story of the Olympics so far.
Athletes get injured often it’s part of the course but not like Saya let alone her Brother 4yrs ago (who has limited movement in his arm and brain damage still today)

If people haven’t looked into her/brother history do so.

How her partner (who just won bronze for France a few minutes before) jumped the gate and greeted her at the finish line was special also.

Such an awesome story.

Hands down the moment of these Olympic Games. Australian BMX rider Saya Sakakibara winning gold for her brother Kai who suffered a traumatic brain injury that almost claimed his life. Not a dry eye in the house.
