I loved two comments from Madge:
1. He said it’s not the buildings that make the difference but the people inside them. Whilst he agreed our COE is a great thing, his point was employing the right people is where it’s at.
2. Build a team with juniors that are invested in the community, club and jersey - my words but his sentiment. Great attitude about building club culture.
Madge gets it. We need him here for 10 years plus

But he trains the boys a little hard...

Do you believe that...?

Sarcasm meter busted again?

Maybe the fact some players did keep training on and some didn't is the issue

We have had a history of letting some play by the rules and others flaunt the rules because of who they are .......

Superbowls .....UEFA Finals .....trips to Fiji

Doesn't really buy into the one for all , all for one mentality

I agree in principle, but flogging a 35 year old who may feature in the international schedule probably isn't a wise move.

@supercoach to me the cap situation depends on which lens you look through. The ‘we don’t have to move anyone on because we are compliant lens’ or the ‘we have some unproductive players soaking up a lot of cap so we need to move them on’ lens. I think we are in the latter situation so we can’t buy the players we want unless we free up cap space. If we can’t move on the players we don’t want then I reckon at best we might get one or two good low salary additions to the roster but no higher end additions to build a competitive team around. If we can get a quality swap for Matterson in a position we need to strengthen then that gives us a good chance. I’m thinking 8th is possible if we can win the games we are expected to win next year.

Generally agree, but there be the shadow of a conflict of interest issue with being the Kiwi coach as well.

G'day @StarswithStripes: the point you have raised about the cap situation, I feel is a perfect example of the podcast being 'mainly' fluff, fluff, fluff, and more fluff.

To me, it was mainly an example of typical 'political spin', and I was disappointed.:fa-frown-o:

Anyone can attend Concord Oval to watch the field work. Doesn’t seem to be a problem. Take the kids. The players are very friendly. No access to the gym. Bit crowded in there.

following up on what I was saying.
There is also the Magic round which we gave up a home game for last year. So that game could be the Parra Easter Monday game at ANZ which leaves 4 games for BankWest.
Also in mentioning the Roosters could move some games to BankWest .
The smart / successful clubs see value in taking their opposition on head on.
I can see the Roosters taking their home game to Parramatta to play Parramatta.
Why because your likely to get fans of that side interested if you embarrass the home team. Also you know you’ve got a guaranteed 15 to 20k of Parra fans paying to be part of your home game.

Madge said it best, how do we improve our home ground advantage and making a fortress? ‘By Winning!’

Magic round will be on again next year at Suncorp !

You miss my point.
Surely the 8 teams that used a ‘Home game’ to play in magic round will be away teams for this year.

Not necessarily. Manky moved their home game v the broncos to Suncorp in 2017. Its likely that they are happy to have a home game allocated to the magic round. Other cashed strapped clubs may be in the same boat.
