There’s nothing wrong with criticism. I raised my eyebrows quite a few times mainly because the guys making this broadcast are supposed to be qualified IT/media employees of the club. Maybe we got the ninth best there, too.

I'll say it again, does anyone know for sure if any NRL club at all is doing live Q&As?

Criticism is fine, but the overboard nonsense about lack of professionalism. Avo on toast even says if you can't be perfect, don't bother. Hogwash. For all we know they might be paying these media boys $65K per year. I don't suppose Tigers are investing millions in top-end audiovisual gear, data streaming services, tech specialists etc.

Have a think about every single media and internet event you've ever been a part of and how many of those have issues. I've barely had a webex in my life where someone wasn't cutting out or dropping off the line.

I’ve been involved in many internet events and they were all better than this arvo. I’m glad you think it was up to scratch. Low bar.

Go on, say it again, again. Lol.

It's funny you say that, seeing as it didn't cost you a cent and contained no ads. So for the dollar you didn't pay, you got infinite value.

And you reckon putting on a fancy show makes one iota of difference to how they play football on the field.

I reckon I have my priorities straight. Doesn't matter to me if sound drops or internet wobbles, what matters is the quality of football that gets played during the season.

If they put on a perfect song and dance today, you'd just get folks saying "fluff fluff, why are they WASTING TIME AND MONEY on these bollocks Q&As, didn't even announce new information or key signings, should be concentrating on XYZ"

Watched it on WT website and enjoyed the chat.
Nothing groundbreaking and didn’t expect any announcements at this point of the season.
Club comes out with something for the supporters and all we get from the “usual suspects on this forum” is unwarranted criticism and a comedy hour.
What do you expect a MGM Hollywood production?

St Luke’s I assume they said it’s across the road. Just wait for the player welfare stories when we train out of demountables.

Hah!
Played school union there 40.odd years ago

It's a bit of a concern they will be using park footy facilities for a couple a years

We've been using park footy facilities for the past 15 years!

Boys won't know what to do with themselves when they walk into the $60M facility, that's $59.9M more than they are used to.

A very low bar, the club loves these guys.

Hmm club loves people who don't excessively criticise? How surprising. Bet Roosters like that type of fan as well. Sharks also. Broncos.

Don't put words in my mouth to suit your agenda. I said professional, not perfect. I don't think that's a big ask for what is (supposedly) a professional organisation.

Well enlighten us the difference between perfect and professional. How many wobbles can you have and still be professional? How many audio drops are within the boundaries of a professional effort?

They got the whole thing onto web streaming, organised the head coach and CEO to sit down from their busy schedules. All seems pretty professional so far. I assume they are doing this as their profession, i.e. they get paid.

Because you use the word "professional" with some intended meaning of polish or quality, but it's a misuse of the word. If those blokes are being paid a buck, then it's professional output. If I clean windows with an oily rag and get paid for it, technically I am a professional window cleaner, even if it's not a great job.

I have no agenda.

You’re trying to be cute by using the literal definition of being professional to mean ‘anyone who gets paid to do a job’. That would also mean that anyone getting paid to do a service could not be unprofessional. Would you say that’s true?

The common use of professionalism is to imply a level of competence expected of a person/organisation in that position. What I saw today in the q&a was below the standard/level of competence I’d expect of a professional.

People whinging about this pull your head in. Some good info.

LikedMadge’s slip up with billy Britten and that grey will be working with all grades from under 16 years of age. Will really strengthen the club. Juniors seem to be growing again.

I thought it was a decent Q&A - got some answers on a few things of interest, notably the Centre of Excellence, Madge's desire to develop and promote from within the juniors, the plans around the new high performance coach sounded promising too. As for next year's squad, reckon we could see a rotation of Reynolds and Mbye at hooker.

I liked it a lot. Had a chuckle at the faces of JP And Madge when JP had finished with his response on the subject of Matto. A tigers and NRL first. Watch this type of info/promo catch on.

On the salary cap question, I think it was cleverly dodged. We don’t have a salary cap problem because we don’t need to move players on to stay compliant. Yes, that may be true, but we **want** to move players on to free up cap space. Not because we have to. The right question wasn’t asked so we got the answer they wanted us to hear. We do have a problem if we can’t free cap space to buy who we want.

Otherwise a fair effort with some useful updates.

Without doubt the best Q & A session of the year from the club.

Only saw the version from the link thanks to @Madge, so no complaints about any live issues and better late than never.

Yeah 100% the cap is being managed but recruitment was hopelessly.

Wouldn't mind having the Q&A a few times a year. Start of the new year (preseason). Middle of the season and End of the season. Liked hearing all the junior talk. Will be going to plenty more flegg/cc games next season.

Middle of season would be the most intresting.... smack bang on our mid season slump?

@Needaname One of the Leichhardt games can go to ANZ to play Parra easily fixed !This should be interesting ....So if getting the biggest crowd is paramount why were there tens of thousands locked out off Leichhardt.... can not have it both ways just when it suits !

How about we take the Bankwest games to Leichhardt.

Then we could get the fans to the game that really want to be there - the non members and those that didn't buy tickets early then deserve to miss out.

These comments are just as relevant imo.

A great way to increase profit is to develop demand.. The more people complain about not getting tickets the more they will sell for and the higher profits.

It’s the same when you go passed a restaurant, tourists will wait at a packed restaurant rather than going to the empty one next door... I say remove the stands and just have a giant hill!!!

following up on what I was saying.
There is also the Magic round which we gave up a home game for last year. So that game could be the Parra Easter Monday game at ANZ which leaves 4 games for BankWest.
Also in mentioning the Roosters could move some games to BankWest .
The smart / successful clubs see value in taking their opposition on head on.
I can see the Roosters taking their home game to Parramatta to play Parramatta.
Why because your likely to get fans of that side interested if you embarrass the home team. Also you know you’ve got a guaranteed 15 to 20k of Parra fans paying to be part of your home game.

Madge said it best, how do we improve our home ground advantage and making a fortress? ‘By Winning!’

Magic round will be on again next year at Suncorp !

You miss my point.
Surely the 8 teams that used a ‘Home game’ to play in magic round will be away teams for this year.

No, I don't think that is the case. I think I have already seen it confirmed somewhere that we will again be the home team.
