Wake up lads, yes Justin made some mistakes, he trusted a friend and took his advise. Ivan the terrible kills relationships and clubs too. Justin was nieve about the Farah thing and he/has we have paid for it. Justin has let the coaches get the players they want, it's not he's area of expertise, so he can concentrate on the other arms of the West Tigers.
Since then our back of office is the envy of most clubs, he's galvanised resources making the club profitable, getting a centre of excellence built, harnessing such a wide and diverse fan base and bringing proper governance, policy and structure to our club.
The only thing he has done wrong recently is the haircut and maybe the beard.

The Hawaiian shirt should get a mention too

inherited

The CEO is involved and works out the deal, he signs off on it it's not just Madge and Cleary who negotiates the price. The CEO like all CEOs make decisions that would be best for the club/company they are running, Pascoe has failed here

Well need to also mention the Robbie Farah Ambassador arrangement that cost us salary cap penalties of $650k for the last 2 years. Unsure what we signed BJ for know its 3 years but did the raiders chip in anything and what are the $.

AD yes being paid overs for a 2nd string fullback however young and should of been on $150k less. ($450k)
If he is the long term 5/8 solution madge is looking for next season would be worth that $ if performs.

You can’t expect a CEO to have football recruitment knowledge. They need to trust their football department to get this right. The CEO actually doesn’t even sign off in most cases. It’s typically left with the Head of Football.

If I was CEO, I employ the best coach I can and team him up with the best football manager I can and trust their judgement. Okay it might not work out, but they are the experts in the field of football. My job is gelling the best out of all my departments and improving the bottom line.
Anyway I think the above describes Pascoe and he is doing a good job. He like the rest of us had a lot of faith in Ivan, and certainly did not think he would stuff our cap and bolt. Sadly rebuilding takes time and luck...just ask Parra

Exactly ..not hire your mate from another club as a coach

That has been his biggest error and we will still be paying the price in 2023

It's a stupid argument IMO. Panthers hired Cleary just the same as Tigers did, in fact they head-hunted him whilst under contract, and so far that's actually working out very well for them.

So either Cleary is a good coach or he really did just inherit a good roster / system set up by other people, but either way his team is running first and team-record series of wins.

So how you can criticise a bloke who signed the coach who currently is heading towards the minor premiership, I don't know. Nobody was to know he'd back-track to Penrith - nobody believed it would be possible after the way Penrith dumped him the first time.

And even still, when Cleary bolted, Tigers managed to secure Madge who was arguably the best-credentialed free agent coach going around.

Let me summarise: signed the coach who is currently on top of the comp, replaced him with a premiership-winning coach.

But even still, criticise the CEO because the buck stops with him for everything, apparently. Funny that, I don't see many CEOs get hooked at other clubs when they don't make the finals. How's St George's CEO going right now, Titans CEO, Warriors CEO? Manly CEO?

He inherited a very good roster that was missing a quality hooker and picked up Api Koraisau as he was on the way out at Manly ..thats' how simple it was

Glad it's that easy. You could do it.

No I have class mate ..if I'd made a commitment to this club I would have stayed the distance and explained my decisions to leave if and when I did ....thats the difference

And if you go back I said that Reynolds and matulino though being good players weren't the right fit for us ..Matulino's knee issues was always going to be a risk when you haven't finished your full treatment ....some blokes don't make it back fully ..you see it all the time ....I may have been wrong about Packer but he has been reasonably promising since he has come back from a basic season from the game

What did he say

I haven’t listened to it yet. It’s a current interview about the front office.
Got nothing to do with Pascoe being held to account just couldn’t find a relevant topic to post it in.
