Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

Don’t know what name it has, but it is to do with conflict of interest of his radio job, and betting agencies. Pascoe should be able to tell you the exact rule….....then again, maybe not

Pascoe who has been suspended since December and was not the person responsible for seeking to sign Daley?

I agree it is easy to cry foul , the Club in general has to step up from under the NRL rock and assert itself and end the bottom feeder tag that most of the league fraternity think the club is .., this is starting to happen but will take time .IMO the biggest step towards this is having one home ground a home and be settled.

This has to be the most laughable decision ever made! The Sportsbet ad saturated NRL refusing to allow someone to register for work with one of the clubs because of his links to a betting agency??? Priceless hypocrisy 😂.

The only reason that this would make sense, in any way, would be because Daley is involved with a betting agency that is in direct competition with the NRL darling Sportsbet agency. Even then, they'd be drawing a long bow in trying to make this decision seem even slightly reasonable.

Really over this mob, the game has lost me.

Is that the same rule that also allows him to coach the all stars and remain as an australian selector. Pretty selective sort of rule.

Here is what i think gctiger is alluding to :

# SPORTS BETTING /

All NRL staff, NRL Club staff, players, officials and administrators are signed on to the high standards of professionalism, fair play and personal behaviour on and off the field. Integrity of the game and those involved in it is of the utmost importance.

The NRL recognises that gambling is an enjoyable and common recreational pursuit for many Australians. The NRL is an active participant in policy discussions in supporting responsible gambling programs, strong Codes of Conduct for sports and uniform anti-corruption legislation in Australia.

**_No NRL employee, NRL Club employee, player, player manager or game official is allowed to participate, or be directly or indirectly involved in any way, in gambling in relation to Rugby League or be involved directly or indirectly, in the provision of information not already in the public domain that might assist another person to gamble in relation to Rugby League._**

The NRL's Integrity Agreements provide some recognition in the mainstream for betting sponsors who commit to best practice. The NRL has Product Fee and Integrity Agreements with gaming operators in Australia. These agreements focus on the sharing of information and the collection of a product fee.

The Integrity Agreements provide the NRL an important information exchange with the betting operators. The NRL's ability to investigate even a suggestion that someone may have acted inappropriately is of the utmost importance to the integrity of the sport and its ability to deal with issues before it affects the integrity of the on-field contest.

I'm guessing the highlighted paragraph is what they worried about with Daley - however it does say " the provision of information **not already in the public domain** " Surely anything Daley says about odds for games or tips he makes would already be in the public domain. If they want to be so pedantic then this paragraph must also exclude him from coaching the all stars and being an Australian selector. NRL - hypocrites to the max.

That highlighted paragraph above pretty much effects everyone that has some sort of post playing media career if they are affiliated with an NRL club. This whole organisation seems like such a mess and needs cleaning up quick by someone who actually knows how to run a modern day business. Cant see Greenturd lasting too much longer, the cracks are getting bigger with every decision he makes.

Problem is Greenberg is employed by Beattie.

They could star in the next dumb and dumber sequel and make it a documentary.

So as long as you dont provide information it is fine to be associated with betting agencies as per the sponsorship of the NRL by gambling agencies. If Todd gives them information he would be guilty but if he does not he is fine. But hang on he can be CEO but Daley cant be an assistant halves coach? Strange!!!!

So how come Gould who is employed by both Penrith and Channel 9 and comments on games where betting odds are given openly during the match.

The reason the NRL are going to give you is that his station is owned by TAB, you can even watch the radio program live the the TAB app, betting odds are intergrated into the shows website etc. This isn't your normal radio station, it is set up to support the gambling industry.

This is actually a good move in my opinion.

That may be the case and i think it is a good thing too. But that highlighted paragraph is very black and white and it clearly states that anyone associated with the NRL in any way can not also be associated with any organisation that openly promotes gambling on the NRL. And yet Gould is associated with such an organisation. There is no grey area, no exemptions.

Yes the NRL have definitely dug themselves a hole with this ruling against Daley, whilst letting others, like Gould, get away with it. Inconsistent and blatant favouritism of the highest order, but I'll lay odds (haha) that they won't be pulled up for it. Nothing will be said because the media will turn a blind eye on Greenburg's hypocrisy once again, no one has the balls to pull Greenburg up on any of his indiscretions. He must have a lot of dirt on a lot of people in the press.

Appears I was wrong, someone did have the balls to call Greenberg out.
