Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

Just read the last 10 pages to catch up.

Im just going to say this, i really dont care if people agree with me or want to take me task for it. Ive been saying the league is corrupt for a long time now.

Who has Justin Pascoe upset lately?

Imo Ivan Cleary and or Phil Gould are up to their necks in this.

This is what you get when you take on the inner circle of the game. We admired Pascoe for showing some ticker and being the strong leader we have wanted but this over the top punishment is their way of putting him in his place. He would have been better off letting Cleary walk.

I need to add a disclaimer because some on here just look for angles to have a go at people about, never mind this being one of the most serious moments in our history. The disclaimer is that i do not in any way think that Justin Pascoe is completely innocent here. Simply that the punishment and the over the top nature of it is pay back for him taking on Gould.

Gould has called in a favour.

I have said before Gould has a vision of the Panthers as the only Western Sydney team, so Parra and us stand in his way. Would not be surprised at all if he is the catalyst behind this as he knows as long as Pascoe was here we would continue to gain momentum.

The whole story is bizarre. Why now?
Pascoe has to own his mistake/ error /actions but the timing and the severity suggests there is more at play here. Even the whole coupling it with the Sharks announcement to support the sudden tough stance - smell a rat.
Gould would be very smug. Got his coach before the new rules and got rid of Pascoe too.

I can understand your reasoning for believing that Gould is behind this Patriot, I certainly wouldn't put anything past him, but I have to wonder why he would go after Pascoe when he and Cleary have already trumped us and won? There is really no need for them to exact revenge on Pascoe and the Wests Tigers because they have already destabilised us and got everything they wanted.

Farah has gone next level now removed a CEO. The punishment is over the top a financial penalty should have been the maximum for a technical breach. We are not over the salary cap.

Not Farah's fault. The issue is not a technical breach. The accusation and subsequent penalties are reflective of the alleged concealment.

Attempt at humour I like Farah.

What concealment the deal was reported in the media at the time and last year on the NRL website. The NRL were aware of it and should have been raised and addressed then if it was a problem. It’s rubbish are we over the cap as a result of the offer to Farah? If not we technically breached the rule but have not overspent the cap.

Farah may not even accept it. We should be fined but de registering a CEO and taking 680k off the cap is huge. It’s bigger than the penalty Manly copped for systemic cap cheating,

Then you dont understand Phil Goulds personality. Not sure you see him for the person he is.

You're right, I don't. Never met the guy.

You could be be 100% right…nothing surprises me anymore

But I also believe taking out your weaker opposition only assist your stronger opposition as well

Just spent 30min emailing the NRL, using their contact page on their website. Anyway after typing war and peace I hit the submit button…the response I got was..rejected

They seem to be a secret society. Anyway I will keep trying

In further breaking news:
- the Tigers will play for no points in 2019 after the NRL discovered systemic salary cap cheating. They have recently discovered that numerous players like Brett Hodgson & John Skandalis were offered roles when their playing careers finished.
- Todd Greenberg has vowed to continue to use both hands in an effort to locate his ass. He does not expect this investigation to be finalised before the 2019 grand final.

I wouldn't be so quick to paint Pascoe as the innocent wronged party. Maybe the punishment is draconian but you don't get these kind of punishments for sloppy paperwork and/or misunderstandings. There must be a reasonable amount of evidence to support both the accusations and penalties.

Don't think anyone's listening mate

People may be, but that's not going to help our club. Anonymous forum or not, you never know who you might influence.

I don't understand the issue you have. I'm not influencing anyone.

No issue. But if you or geo don't understand why people may listen and agree, but not back it up, I'm not going explain why.

Already accused and hung who will be our next CEO .

9 News just went with the story of there being a contract which was very difficult for the NRL to locate.

Now we're getting down to business.

For those saying Farah is an innocent bystander - if there is a signed contract then Robbie signed it, no doubt with the knowledge and blessing of his manager Sam Ayoub. Sam being a registered players agent and knowing full well how the NRL are gunning for rogue agents would have known that this contract was a bit dodgy but still allowed his client to sign it. Why arent the NRL going after Ayoub when he would have knowingly allowed his client to sign a dodgy contract. And is Robbie using the " i just leave everything to my manger plea." Just as bad as Inglis with his not knowing he had a boat in his garage. So my rant is mainly why isn't Ayoub being de registered and Robbie being given the punt.

I'm sure WT will avail themselves of the best legal advice available but, if it was me, I'd get the best silk money can buy and attempt to take the NRL on through the conventional legal system rather than the NRL's own processes. The NRL and its predecessors have a terrible win / loss record when the courts deal with them and this could be another sorry chapter for them. It really is about time WT stood up for themselves and took the league on head on.

+ 1 Well said.

Very true - the guy is a sociopath. And before i get the usual do i know him personally - no i don't. But there is no denying that Gould does exhibit the traits of the classic sociopath

Fair enough. I missed the intent. Sorry mate.

So, if this was all in the media at the time, including the NRL.com site then why did the NRL not say anything when we asked for salary cap dispensation for Robbie’s payments whilst he was at Souths? Nothing seems to confirm it, but I assume the NRL allowed the dispensation, so haven’t they been negligent in their actions?

But it isn’t Robbie’s responsibility(or his manager’s for that fact) to handle the WTs administrative side of things, that falls on our Management.

Thats true - but if they knowingly signed a contract that was an inducement then they should be in the firing line as well. Sam Ayoub is an experienced players agent - he knows what the NRL rules are. I'm not saying Wests shouldn't be punished. I'm saying punishing all those involved.

It's hardly a player's responsibility to register his own contract.
