@ said:@ said:@ said:@ said:**The thing that has worried me is when the NRL asked us about the contract they were first told that it was lost, before finding it. Also the text from Pascoe to Ayoub instructing him not to send or reveal the contact to the NRL.**
That just stinks of a cover up, but as you said all will come out in the wash.
Hopefully a downgrade in the penalties is coming.
Where is this? Could you please share the article's URL address? Think in the midst of all this - being most concerned with our penalty - I've completely missed this.
Thanks

A series of messages from Pascoe to the club’s general manager of football and Farah’s agent Sam Ayoub formed part of the evidence against the club. In the text messages, it is understood Pascoe suggested the termination agreement and ambassadorial deal were linked.
At one point in September 2016, it is understood he asked Ayoub not to announce the ambassador deal.

Not having a shot at you Gallagher but it sounds far to dumb and incriminating to be true.
It was in a media article. I know that doesn't make it true but I'm not just repeating something a random person said on facebook.

Thats fine Gallagher and i was not doubting that you read it somewhere but i am very hesitant to believe anything that media sources state as fact

Suggesting to Ayoub that the termination agreement and the ambassadorial role were linked is very different to "the text from Pascoe to Ayoub instructing him not to send or reveal the contact to the NRL." Conspiring with a player manager to deliberately conceal salary related information from the NRL would be very bad but nothing I've seen suggests that has happened, including the Brent Read article.

Again maybe they wanted to keep it quiet from Taylor for a short time until the waters had settled …..

Okay thanks for sharing. It was honestly first time I’d heard it.
I don't know if it's my phone but I can't access it. Hmm some interesting choice of words used in the article, such as considered and suggested instead of confirmed. Seeing it’s such a big accusation to make and would be key to the investigation.
Wasn't the actual role announced in 2015? Does anyone have knowledge of its announcement?
Thanks for sharing and my response means nothing against you gallagher, just the journos.

@ said:Hack NRL journo's are very rarely correct as we have seen countless times over the years.
Brent Read's "guess" would just be another story originating from a day standing at the bar listening to gossip. Buzz probably told him this one during one of his monumental sessions on $2-a-bottle gut-rot.
Take it with a huge grain of salt IMO.

@ said:From what I've read we've put our hand up… Accepted guilt.
Our argument is flimsy bordering on limp celery stick
@ said:My guess, Pascoe will get his job back and the fines and cap penalty will stay. That way the NRL don’t lose face and we get something out of it. To me it would not be ideal, but it would be good to put it to bed as it must be a distraction and we need positive things now with season not far away
