Greenberg vents frustrations at club CEOs and captains over off-field incidents

Todd Greenberg vented his frustrations at the recent anti-social behaviour in the NRL to club CEOs and captains during an unprecedented phone hook-up on Monday, warning them about the damage these acts cause the game…

The nerve of that scum Greenturd. Giving Inglis a character reference, but then having a whinge about the players misbehaving? Really? I do not understand how he can get away with that??

Didn't Inglis even plead guilty?? I know he got bugger all as a punishment by the court, but how can the NRL CEO not impose some sort of sanctions for that?? I do not understand.

I would be pretty sure toddy will be making more of these hypocritical statements before his time is done.

Its good news that they are finally going to get tough on the morons in our game, but lets see if they goes through with it though.

Rumours on facebook about slimey fart getting into strife are around too.

Cochise & yourself revel in playing the role of devil's advocate.
Nothing will change till Greenburg is fired/resigns I'm afraid.

I don't play devil's advocate, I am Beelzebub himself!

Part of the:

**The wrath of Todd: NRL boss talks tough after the off-season from hell**

**Won't lengthy bans and heavy fines send a stronger message to the players?**
We will do that.

**You can say that but will it happen?**

Take it as read: the first time we put the hammer down this year, it’s going to be harder and bigger. And if anyone says, 'What about?' There will be no 'what about?' We're in a new era now. It’s a reset. The commission has given me strong guidance to go harder. The deterrents aren't working. Anything relating to violence against women, if it’s proven, that will be at the very high end of the scale.

Although this article is about player behaviour and Greenburg’s quote relates to that, you can take it as read, the same attitude to the proposed WT penalty and fine imposition. Anybody that thinks the judge, jury and executioner will have a change of heart or softening of penalty is suffering misplaced hope. If WT remain at total opposite explanations to what the NRL investigation has decided, we have to take it to the courts, the NRL will not change their verdict or penalty.

Remember if we appeal penalty we have to accept the basis of the findings, from the above statement, they (NRL) will not change anything. Penalty, fine and Pascoe’s de-registration. We have to fight if the club do not agree with the NRL findings,

My latest complaint to the NRL:
“Could someone please contact me, preferably Todd Greenberg, and explain how he can rant and rave about players bringing the game into disrepute only days after he provided a reference for a player who was drunk driving. This same player has previously been in court for domestic violence and was heavily involved in under the table, undisclosed player payments. Maybe mr greenberg should sanction himself. Maybe he should be deregistered! I look forward to your prompt reply. My phone number is …... “
feel free to copy and paste
I’m sick of this crap!

The Knights Templar were accused of Worshiping Baphomet when in fact the Templar were custodians of knowledge & 'treasures' from King Solomon's tomb.
(arc of the covenant = premiership trophy), if you will.

They were excommunicated & slaughtered due to false accusations.

Let's keep it going old boy…

How an ‘angry’ NRL CEO Todd Greenberg plans to end NRL off-field atrocities
NRL CEO Todd Greenberg is promising tougher punishments for misbehaving players.
A “frustrated, angry and embarrassed” Todd Greenberg says he has laid down the law to all 16 NRL clubs, demanding their players take responsibility after a horror off-season.

The NRL CEO on Monday revealed that he’d delivered a stern directive during a phone hook-up with the game’s club captains, telling them to deliver a message to their players.

On his first day back at Rugby League Central after a post-season break, Greenberg took time out to attempt to halt the game’s avalanche of negative press.

He said there was “no doubt” rugby league’s reputation had taken a battering after a summer marred by ugly headlines about player misbehaviour.

“The message was simple, go back to your players, from your junior players right through to the top, and explain to them the standards that have been set, explain to them that damaging the game also damages them individually,” Greenberg told the Nine Network.

“If you make a bad decision as a player, you put your livelihood at risk. It’s a great, great honour to work in the game, it’s not a privilege.”

Jarryd Hayne, Jack de Belin, Dylan Walker, Zane Musgrove and Liam Coleman have all been charged by police for offences against women.

Dylan Napa was the subject of several damaging videos which included one of him having sex with a woman while a video of Corey Norman watching on as an elderly man snorted cocaine was also leaked.

Newcastle’s Jacob Saifiti suffered a broken leg during a fight outside a pub while teammate Tautau Moga’s future is in doubt after he was alleged to have slapped a taxi driver.

Greg Inglis pleaded guilty to drink driving, Michael Chee Kam was charged with common assault and Jaeman Salmon convicted of low level drink driving. Canterbury’s Mad Monday saga also left officials red-faced.

The litany of scandals coincided with North Queensland’s Scott Bolton pleading guilty to assault after grabbing a woman at a Sydney bar during the 2018 season, and came on the heels of Jack Wighton being handed a two-month suspended sentence and $3500 fine for a string of charges resulting from a drunken rampage.

“I asked the 16 captains to step off the training field and stand with their CEOs and it was a pretty simple message — we need to be better,” Greenberg said.

“The game needs to grow up in a lot of areas and some of the things I’ve seen have just been stupid.

“I remind all players to consider carefully what you post online or in WhatsApp messages because the potential for these messages to get out is large.”

Not sure if this has been posted or not already

Very well played. Hopefully the Tigers don't suffer the same fate. Doesn't that make RF Baphomet?

Yeah and how do we do that Toddy?

That was my first exact thoughts when reading. We have no CEO and the last time we knew of who our captain was, there were 5 of them.

Greenberg has gone from "Little reaction" to "Over the top reaction" because of his culpability by not enforcing reasonable penalties in the past for indiscretions which could have involved jailtime. He is not a leader he is a follower.
How he had the gall to say any of what he said with his track record of hiding and condoning incidents in the past is unbelievable. His effort with Inglis is a perfect example of complete hypocracy

Sorry meant to respond to gallagher. But yeah this sounds very stupid from Greenberg.

I seem to remember an over the top reaction last year in regards to the refereeing. That worked really well, didn't it toddy?

Classic misdirection play so everyone forgets about his massive tits up from last year.
