It seems to be part of Sheens' role now to engage the public, esp the media. But also it's never really been Sheen's MO to focus on fan / member engagement. He's a bit old school in that regard, preferring to make specific comments to the media and then ignoring the outside noise.
I reckon this is a better approach. It's what I would do. It'd piss off a certain section of the supporter base but who cares.
The reality is winning footy games is extremely different to giving a talk about your 5 year or whatever plan.
I wonder how many 5 year plans have been successful in rugby league. My guess is about 1% of the time it works and that is with hindsight.
