Now that warren McDonnell had left the club although no one rated him. He had a great eye for talent l, we need someone really quickly to fill that role. In my opinion he's a big loss. I hope and know that Cleary will be on to this sooner rather than later. I'd be worried if he ignored it?!?
That's our biggest asset, our junior talent.

Funny how we don't mind some jobs for the boys like Egan and this imposter and Pascoe and Cleary and that's all good. But think about Todd patten as coach, white ant boys club calls one from everywhere.
Crap look really he won a premiership for our club and we take half wit Potter opinion over one of our own…

I shudder to think what players Payten would attract as coach. Last thing this club needs is another rookie. Cleary is so far head and shoulders above Payten as the right guy its not even funny. Not sure what your issue is.

No I am all good with Cleary as our coach, I think he's the right fit and will attract more players than payten would.
We hear about culture, but as a group of fans we almost hate all our ex players with a passion. I think it's sad, these players should be held in high regard as the one who won us a premiership. But instead we hate,
We look in someone else's back yard and like their lawn better than ours.

I don't hate our ex players, but we overrate them. There's a reason we never kicked on after 05, they weren't good or tough enough.

Haven't posted for ages but had a sneaky peak at what's happening and saw this thread. I asked JT about Taniela at the Members' Day a few months ago and he was very forthright in his opinion that he was still inexperienced and needed time. He said something along the lines that prop is a position where young guys can be found out pretty quickly if they aren't ready.
Hopefully Taniela keeps improving because the club will benefit if he does.

It would be a tragedy if true and a screw up of epic proportions by the club. He should not be released under any circumstances.

We are already, by far, the smallest team in the comp. He is the one monster junior we've ever had. Never had anyone remotely similar to him. He has everything we lack but yes he's still just a kid.

We get bullied by every pack in the comp. We are constantly dominated in the ruck. We need someone with some intimidation and while he can be more aggressive that can improve over time.

There's a reason half the nrl were chasing him! You'd release almost every prop in the club over him.

Got to hope this newbie op is just some wannabe and not act someone mates with our juniors. Does seem odd he's not selected in any grade but then he's been struggling with a few injuries over the past couple of months ago hopefully that's all it is.

Clubs are not allowed to negotiate with him unless he seeked a realease first. This whole situation is a mess.

Who knows, it isn't confirmed yet so I wouldn't waste too much time speculating. I don't think Manly has anyone we would be remotely interested in that they would be prepared to release. They have worse depth than us and that is unfortunately really saying something at the moment…

Ah OK, you seem to pay quite a bit of attention to the development grades and the U20's I thought you may have been implying something.

Paseka was contracted to Wests Tigers until the end 2018 so if it was an NRL contract other Clubs aren't supposed to make any offers until the final contract year..Not sure if it was just an NYC contract..

Could just be a simple case of Paseka requesting a release…

Exactly. We can't simply roll over and die everytime a player gets cold feet. Enough of don't keep an unhappy player. He's been happy for a long time, make him be mature and professional and work through whatever grievance he has, if indeed he has any.

He's also recently re-signed, and has stated how much he loves the club and has enjoyed working his way up through the ranks and was going to patiently keep building and working his way up. To suddenly turn around and do the exact opposite would be a massive slap in the face.

The kid will get an opportunity here no doubt, but he's still got things to work on and can't expect his chance to be given to him on a silver platter. Manly are short on troops but his chances at first grade won't be any better there than they are here. Signing a talented but raw teenager is a long term option, not a quick fix.

Bill Bainbridge / Lock (NSW U18), Jon Tuivati / Prop (NZ), Jayden Tarrent / Prop (NSW Pathways) and Elia Fattuui / Prop (NSW Pathways) and i cant see them being happy about playing second fiddle to Peseka in regards to game time and coin. Bob Fulton will want to play with his new toy so someone will miss out. All come on to the market now or within the next 12 or so months. Tigers recruitment manager Dave Warwick signed them to manly when he was there and rates them all highly.

Dont think this is too much of a loss for us, yeh he was big but was talked up for more than he was, "looks like tarzan plays like Jane" comes to mind. Id rather someone 10cm shorter with aggression and heart.

Dont understand this if true. The 20's are outgunned midgets and that won't change this season. Paseka is the only big unit there and against the Storm, the only forward capable of making busts. His defence is nothing great but he is a very big guy with undoubted potential. The half back is the only other player there who even looks up to 20's standard.These two , and Papenhuzen are probably the only three worth keeping. I don't follow this decision ( like many others) at all.
