Looking forward to @BlackWhiteGold ‘s game summary
A very good win for the NSW Cup boys yesterday, with the best performance of the season for many of our players.

We won it with our defence & ultimately our attack wore down the Jets as we won most of the key stat areas in the game.

Thought our best were Josese Lanyon & Heath Mason. Hopefully this is the break-out game that Lanyon needed in Cup & gives him the confidence to go on with it. Strong in defence, assured with his dummy half service & made some important darts from dummy half including for a try.

Mason showed his versatility. Made some good carries & tackles at centre and a rehearsed long-range kick chase down the wing to score off Stevanovic burning the cover. Went into halfback when Stevanovic went off injured with about 25 to go and provided solid direction in attack with his passing & kicking.

Was very impressed with Logan Brookes in his Cup debut too. Did make a couple of errors but his running game, defence & organisation was very good. Saved a tackle with strength on the line & regularly broke 1 or 2 tackles with his runs. Pops up everywhere.

Saukuru & Fainga'a were great with their yardage carries & finishing in attack. Solo a nice 60m intercept & what a find from Camden is Fainga'a this season. From what I have found, he is about 26-27yo too.

Charlie Murray & Bunty Afoa were strong in the middle particularly Charlie and loved the impact on both sides of the ball that Vaka Aho brought when he came on.

Ethan Roberts had a strong 1st start in Cup for us, did try a flick pass that was intercepted but that's what he brings. Mitchell Taotua made some of our better carries too & continues to show his potential as a 21yo.

Patrick Herbert was poor with his discipline early both with indiscretions & also throwing a couple of passes snapped up by the Jets but then did some very good things in the 2nd half including a bone-crunching tackle.

For those who watch alot of nsw cup, how did brookes go at fullback yesterday compared to how attard has gone this season?
Like a lot of our supporters who watch the lower grades, I’m a big fan of Logan Brookes as he plays tough, is always in the game and breaks tackles. I think with a little bit more physical development he could be a good centre or wing option aside from fullback.
I reckon Jack Attard is a fraction quicker and has better ball playing ability, so there really is little between them, but both are really good prospects, particularly if they can bulk up a little bit without losing any speed.

Agree on all fronts.

Think Attard could slide in at 5/8th (in time) if needed too, which is a bit of versatility.

Is it too soon to put him in first grade? That sounds like what we needed yesterday, someone not shying away from the game.

They both sound like very good prospects, by the sounds of it if attard adds size and strength to break tackles he could be a great fullback, do you believe either of them will develop to be better players than Bula in the future? Like 4/5 years away

I very much doubt it would happen, but after yesterdays debacle, I would be happy with either Attard or Brookes playing NRL for us this weekend.
In saying that both of them have shown to be a bit shaky under the high ball at times which is an issue that needs to be worked on with all our fullbacks and wingers it would seem.
