Another one bites the dust and another one's gone, another one's gone, sound familiar.

Juniors have been talked up on here for more than a decade and the success rate to make 1st grade and do well is very low, it sucks but the truth is like a kick in the goolies.
It does happen a lot, but lots of players don’t live up to expectations at every club, it’s not just limited to us.
The smaller built players need a lot going for them such as toughness, plenty of explosive speed and good unpredictability and deception.
Young Bookes is in that smaller player category and has good speed off the mark, but you couldn’t call it explosive, he is certainly tough enough, but does not have a lot in way of unpredictability and deception.
He’s still young and has plenty of scope for improvement, but I don’t think he has showed enough this season to earn a top 30 position for 2027 and ultimately we are looking for young players who are showing good enough form to warrant a top 30 position.

I hope this isn't another Papenhauzen situation all over again, some player's need couple more years

No doubt it is very difficult to make it through. Brookes had a special SG Ball season w Balmain last year though, scoring tries he had no right to score and showing remarkable strength for a guy his size.
