Was an institution in its day but has lost its sparkle. Haven't watched it in years but enjoyed, Mahatmacoat, Sterlo, Chief, Things you may have missed etc….

Fatty leaving is a good thing he choaks the show.

Not sure what format would work but they need NRL related shows on Free to Air.
 
Fatty was lucky to survive 4 years let alone 24….CH9 should axe Beau Ryan a media wanna be who is so up himself
 
Well he was hope for a lot of people.

He was living proof that a no talent, egotistical, one eyed very ordinary footballer, sub standard coach (who was lucky enough to have a brilliant team), could hoodwink a network to keep him on for so long and as a bonus - get paid for it.

The show was to my mind an embarrassment to the NRL, not funny, not informative, in the past sexist and maybe Channel 9 can redeem themselves and produce a good product, the game and it's supporters certainly deserve it.

To have this "Idiot" still hanging around as part of the games commentery team is a further step backward.

Cut your losses "9" and get rid of him altogether - you would get more rating for your dollar paying him to stay off TV than you did with him heading that lamest of lame footy shows.

See ya Vautin - it took ages for the fat lady to sing, but how sweet it is!!!!
 
Channel 9 has been slowly killing off NRL coverage.

I dislike Vautin more than any other person on the planet for some reason.

I used to enjoy NRL tactics. 360 has more footy content, but it's predominantly footy gossip, the show is run by journalists (granted that Ikin played, but he's had a lot to do with media organisations since he hung up the boots.)
 
I have meet Fatty a couple times, actually a really nice bloke, but he and the show should have been axed years ago. It has not moved with the times and I doubt any efforts to revamp the show are doomed for failure.

They need a whole new team and get back to more a NRL show, rather than a entertainment show with some NRL. The time slot would have to also change
 
I don't get this obssession the game has atm with women. Women referees, tv presenters etc. Not meaning to sound sexist, but are these ladies there because they earned the right and do a good job, or is the game getting too political? Same is happening in the AFL with a lady hosting the AFL footy show. It seems too contrived.
 
Has anyone listened to Erin Molan on the Continuous Call Team of a Weekend, seriously she is only a latecomer to Rugby League and hasn't a clue on life what'soever, I don't want to come across as sexist here but fair dinkum she is an Air Head of the highest Magnitude, her co-presenters have to explain things to her that should be common knowledge for a person in the Media, the archetypal Dumb Blonde.
 
The frustrating thing is that it would be extremely easy to put together a very good Footy Show. Just get a bunch of interesting ex-players and let them talk footy. It's not hard.

Ex players that can actually speak. Idk what it is about league, but most ex players that are in the media sound like meatheads.

I've never rated Molan's knowledge of the game either, and with what the footy show tries to accomplish she seems like a square peg in a round hole. The ladies on League Life on Fox Sports are much better presenters and are all knowledgeable about the game.
 
The worst thing to ever happen to Channel Nine was losing Yvonne Sampson. She had everything they needed in a female presenter and they let her walk.

Molan is literally a token inclusion. Fox got it right with all the knowledgeable women on their panels.

Yep - Sampson is the best presenter on either network by a distance.
9 coverage is poor and can only see it getting worse, given they're giving more airtime to Ray f'ing Hadley.

Renee Gartner is alright.
Allana Ferguson is good too and seems to be becoming more of a regular.
 
There's a certain level of credibility when Yvonne Sampson talks, along with the other members of the panel - Nine really pooed the bed letting her go, and not taking her seriously.

Braith (love him or hate him) is a smart guy, and can talk footy rather eloquently, Gasnier has really come on leaps and bounds, Brett Finch is no mug either, and the guests are usually well selected.

Fox are running rings around nine in terms of credible commentors on the game, and the fact that they have handed "The Footy Show" back over to the director of sport, and not light entertainment speaks volumes
 
Gave up on the show sometime ago. Ten years too late to make a change and for what it's worth, I much prefer Yvonne Sampson over Erin in regards to NRL talk.
