Payto gone?

if it's a rolled ankle with no demage i bet he plays. 3 days the swelling will come down with all the assistance of the medico's.

Thanks for that synopsis Aladinsane. Damn I'll be praying Payto can pull a miracle and take the field. Otherwise Payto must take this as sign that he needs to step up 10x in order to make his mark.

I don't think we CAN'T win without Payten. That stat on him being out sounds bad, but really, he is a second rower, he is a loss but not a game-changing loss. Fifita will definitely be in this team now, a great opportunity for him to step up and get some decent minutes. Who knows, it may be Fifita to chuck a Halatau.

Pat Richards had a broken ankle, had only 1 game to play and was needled beyond belief. Even if Todd had an injury like that, surely you'd hedge your bets and wait it out until next week and risk it then.

Wests Tigers were thrown into further turmoil today when key forward Todd Payten injured an ankle in a training mishap.

Payten had to be helped off Concord Oval in severe pain after going down on his ankle. X-rays tonight will confirm whether he has suffered a break.

Payten has been one of the Tigers' most dependable forwards this year. Even if he is cleared of a fracture, he is at long odds to play in the preliminary final against St George Illawarra on Saturday night.

The Tigers have endured an awful run of injuries, but the latest blow is potentially the worst of the lot. Five-eighth Benji Marshall recovered from a knee injury in time to play in the elimination final victory against Canberra last Friday night, while the likes of Gareth Ellis (back) and Bryce Gibbs (toe and knee) have battled on under duress. But officials concede there is next to no chance of Payten playing against the Dragons at ANZ Stadium, in the Tigers' most important match since the 2005 grand final, even if the best scenario – a sprain – is diagnosed.

Just keep in mind, Sheens said Benji wasn't looking like playing straight after his injury. And he carved them up.

"Next to no chance" - Smokie.

If Payten is out Skandalis must surely come in. Paytens defensive workload could not be even 1/4 matched by Fifita or Murdoch. He and Gibbs ruck defence has won us countless games

Payten would be an immense loss….

Hope it isn't serious....fingers crossed...

And yes Innk they have stupid drills with tennis balls...

Like what pray tell?

Hand/eye co ordination…

Not out of the realms of possibility one was left on the ground...

but if it's a smokie...it's one of the best... 😛ray:

8\. Gibbs
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Flanagan
13\. Heighno

14\. Fulton
15\. Fifita
16\. Murdoch
17\. Dwyer

Thats what I'm thinking but right now I'm thinking in a panic mode. Feel free to find as many faults as you want.

But hopefully Big Toddy will be fine to play 😛ray:

god those stats for Patons playing and not playing are scary!

But on the positive side, all last week benji was 'highly in doubt' last week
as was ayshford

and they both had blinders!
