Phil Gould weighs in on Aaron, James and Mitch

More than anything it points the finger at manipulative and exploitative managers and "whisperers" who prey on the limited intellect of NRL players to convince them that something other than what they've already got (and helped to shape) is better.

100% these guys will miss playing with each other and building something. Regardless of who has success where they will look back one day and think what could have been

I agree TS, Gould has a soft spot for Wests Tigers

Vossy def does.
Gus is a pea brain, cant stand him.

Love vossy, he took the time to reply to my email about how odd it is in Rugby League The clock keeps running when there is no play and that league is only a 70 minute game.

I grew up near Vossy. He used to commentate on the bus on the way to school. "Here we go round the corner and now we have made it". He is a good guy.

King of the one liners. Last week Brock Lamb put in a bad kick and Vossy's response was "That was a lamb shank".

Obviously right at home on the bus then.

I would like to see a Gus article on the Pamfers and their Super Start to 2017…

Isn't funny that a old footballer with no university degree makes better and more credible reading than these hacks at the Telecrap.

That's because he's a league man

It's one of the reasons Rothfield hates Gould. Gould is an ex first grader, successful coach and is a 100x times better writer than Rothfield - jealousy jealousy

It's a good article, all 3 have made bad decisions here, probably the biggest listening to their manager. Their brand is tarnished and will be for some time.

If by some miracle we win a premiership before they do at their respective new clubs (if that all pans out of course that they are able to leave), you better believe these decisions will be brought up.

Ahhh yes.. spent the whole week thinking about Blake Fergsuon leaving Cronulla because "I want to go to a club that can win a Premiership", lo and behold, Cronulla beat Canberra to it, and Roosters plus Fergo also! And with all due respect to Ricky Leutele, he's no Blake Ferguson and will probably never be Four Nations' Player of the Tournament, but he has a premiership ring and Fergo doesn't.

Boys make new mates all the time; Klem-Klem is closer to Woods than those 3 are cause of their time in Origin trenches together. Then there's Teddy and Mini (same position, same heritage, World Cup teammates, one sufficiently older to be that mentor). There's that old cliche about kids moving house, "well, you'll make new friends".

What a great read. These players had a chance to build something special. Ivan has shown in 3 weeks what he can do with this group. We could easily be 3/3\. We will have money to spend to build a great team. They could have made a legacy here and gone down as tiger legends. Instead they took the easy road out and blamed everyone but themselves. The reason i blame woods more than the others is because he is the captain. He should have been the first to sign and been in the ear of the other 2 to convince them to stay. Instead he did the complete opposite. Rubbished our club, his teammates and still carries on like we are fools.

Phil Gould annoys the hell out of me when he is commentating. But, hearing him talk in general he has a very good football brain and makes a lot of sense. Great article.

Gus is great when it comes to these type of situations, he nailed it, he says it with passion and knows exactly how us fans feel.

Gus is very much what is best for himself and his club first, what is good for the fans and good for the game 2nd though IMO. Does anyone seriously think he would of written this article if any one of the Woods, Teddy, Moses trio were on their way to play for Penrith next season and beyond? Absolutely no chance.
Don't mind Gus personally but he picks and chooses his targets often.
In all likelihood it is a great, convenient smokescreen to keep the media focus off of Penrith's embarrassing start to 2017 as premiership favourites.

"Just get on the bus, Gus…............"

At least it wasn't as sickening an article as that by Andrew Webster trying to put a case for how hard done by Woods was with the booing by a small proportion of WT fans. And the booing was not as loud or persistent as I expected tbh, so no sympathy to Woods on my part thanks.

I am hoping the not so big 3 read the article. Maybe they can get their gf or whatever to read it for them if they're illiterate , not their "manager"

Woods comes off like a victim that the Tigers pulled their offer off the table and now he has nothing. Well, I'm happy he's digging in for us, even if he won't be in our colour in 2018.
