As already pointed out, another beastly performance by Sue. Tragedy that it looks like he’s leaving.

I must have missed something - has been told he is not wanted?
Realize he had an ordinary year last year, but I have always thought he is a gun when he is on. Just not consistent enough, but stiil would be disappointed to see him moved on

The Pom said 2 weeks ago he wouldn’t be here, then last night a few different people were saying he’s off to Parra.

It’s a funny one, you could argue his form the last 2 weeks has been him playing for a contract. But if he already has one for 2019, he doesn’t have that as a motivation factor. Maybe he’s returning to his old form having been able to stay fit ?

Ahh thanks. The Pom seems to be pretty spot on. Shame - showed how dominant he can be when he is fit and focused.

Finals or not, this year has been great. Such a pleasure to watch our team this year. Unfortunately that slump will cost us, but we have a good foundation of players with a great coach to go onto bigger and better things. Go the mighty tigers.

Well said :righton:

Packer 9 runs for 67 metres, he's getting worse I tell you, he is no longer that destructive front rower that he was last season. I have bigger wraps on guys like Sue, Twal and Grant to be honest.

Man im sick of people bagging rhis bloke and mats. They work tirelessly off the ball and defend their asses off. Our structure is not based in the middle of the field.

But those boys make a diff imo

I agree. he is playing busted, yet still does all the real tough stuff first up from kicks and he is there keeping his place in the line and hi lateral movement is very good for a big man.

Dont let stats rule your world.

Farah 3 runs for 18 metres.Hmmm surprising.Thought he was better.

Farah was solid but I think we need to keep in mind our forwards were absolutely monstered last night with the ball. Souths had an incredible line speed and there were a lot of sets where our forwards were making only about 20m in the first 4 tackles. Its obviously really hard for the hooker to do anything when your pack is being man handled/gang tackled etc.

Yet we gained twenty percent more ground per set. Cook being so quiet is the true indication of just who dominated.

I've been dismayed by some of Packer's recent games, but this week I thought his performance was much bigger than the stats show.

Other side of the coin suggest he didn't overplay his hand, and did a job, which as a "Farah hater" is all I can ask from him. He steadied the ship and was great in defence in the middle.

I like how Mbye is coming along.
Very safe under the ball, good defence and I really liked his try and support play - unfortunately something Tui lacked.
Think he will work out very nicely for us.

I thought his defence last night was ordinary to be honest - missed a couple of one on one tackles which a fullback should have made. He's better than Tui though.

Agree 100% Hodgo…. The problem some people have is that they see someone like Fonua make 200 run metres and think he’s winning us games... Whilst failing to see the 3 errors that actually cost us the game. Packer and Matulino have stiffened up our middle immensely. There can be no argument.

Absolutely agree Hodgo - basically the people that are doing that are not watching the game.

Packer also runs so many decoy plays for the team.

Both Packer and Mats had over 50m at half time, I looked to see how they were doing particularly because people always criticise them. The 2nd half when they returned, possession wise, didn't really allow for many meters to be made.

Also both Packer and Mats are constantly thrown flat passes when they are already at the defensive line, vs the outside backs who typically get it from dummy half and are able to run to the line which boost's there meters made.

Thoughtful, intelligent posting.

I'll add you to my must reads, that'll make 6.

Did you see Ivan's presser when he spoke about how the Tigers played 15 in a row this year before having a week off instead of playing 10 or 12 before the week off and it was hard for some of the players and he said they will learn from it but they look alot fresher now

I will be honest, i dont dissect the stats if we walk away with the win.
Otherwise im over them with a magnifier in hand

As a collective unit they did well enough to get the 2 points
