In accordance with the WADA Code, Naden's one-month period of suspension is backdated to the date of his provisional suspension and he will be eligible to return to training and competition on 1 January 2021.

The sanction issued to Naden concerns the anti-doping breach only and any other related matters will be reviewed in the new year. The Panthers and the NRL will continue to provide support to Naden.

Cool, so snort coke and all's sweet, but pretend to shag a dog or pretend to be drinking from
a selfie bubbler and you're gone big time. Makes sense.

So the one month applies retrospectively and business as usual Jan 1.NRL looks completely stupid...politically correct...but stupid

It’s ridiculous for sure, he should be serving his suspension once the season has actually started. He literally hasn’t been penalised at all!

That said, it’s actually in our best interests that Naden is able to play for Penrith from the start, it gives us more hope of getting Laurie across a year early.

Stupid? No not really. When you break the law you’ll be fine if you turn yourself into a victim with emotional issues. Peoples feelings have been elevated to such a high level. We can all have a warm fuzzy knowing we haven’t placed the law above a persons emotional well being.

lol NRL hasn't changed a bit. V'landys, soft as microwaved butter. Give him a one month suspension for playing the GF whilst on drugs, then backdate it to a month ago.

Still heard nothing official about Sam Burgess and all those dramas. And why is that? Because sweeping it under the rug is still their solution of choice.

NRL isn't a sport with a fair level playing field, it's a business, designed to make money, and to put on a show scripted like wrestling.

So far V’landys has shown that he is no better than his incompetent predecessor. He is all froth & bubble, no substance. Obviously, there are some powerbrokers behind the scenes and they are the ones really running the show.

Serious question JD. Do you really believe NRL is scripted like wrestling? If so, why do you watch it and write passionately on a forum?
I used to get all worked up about Broncos getting a rails run - and they do TV wise, but it’s not scripted.

Not so much scripted.....more so heavily manipulated to produce certain results and outcomes that best benefit the NRL to make heaps of money. Pretty sure about that.
The main reason to keep watching is the NRL has shown a willingness to provide fairytales to clubs quite often, hopefully our one is on the horizon.

I used to get all worked up about Broncos getting a rails run - and they do TV wise, but it’s not scripted.

I certainly highly suspect that the fix is in a lot of the time. I don't think every play in the game is scripted beforehand, but I feel there's definitely a result the referee has in mind before the game starts, and they do what they can to make that happen. It doesn't go their way 100% of the time, but I suspect it's most of the time.

Edit: So yeah Steve, scripted is probably the wrong word, probably a bit over the top.

The blatant subjectivity in refereeing, the judiciary, dealing with salary cap cheating, favourable gifts, it's just gotten more and more blatant over the years, so much so that they barely try to hide it anymore.

Why am I still invested in the WT, because it's in my blood. The Raiders were a team who managed to go against the grain, and though I think their squad will only have the one chance (in 2019) which they blew, they gave it a good shake. So it can be done.

I'm hoping we at WT can become a powerhouse through this rebuild, similar to (dare I say it) Panthers. To compete, we need to tick all the boxes (political influence, good business stability, stable coach, quality players, quality junior pathways, good recruitment) and I think it's certainly possible we can get there.

No issues with the Naden incident as the penalty falls after the infringement that he admitted and in this case it was at season's end, so back on board in the new year it is for him and hoping he is on top of things.

All penalties fall after infringements ..🙄
4 weeks is soft

Being tough on Panthers is one thing, (must always be!) but for Naden himself, I only hope he has the strength and support in and around him to help him get want he wants. If what he wants is getting off the gear, then I truly hope he does.

This confirms what everyone was saying about Mitch "Grub and low life".

Newcastle Knights star Mitchell Pearce's wedding has been cancelled after he allegedly sent racy text messages to a young female club employee.
Pearce was due to be married on Tuesday to partner Kristin Scott in Byron Bay, but a report in the Daily Telegraph, which has been confirmed by The Sydney Morning Herald, revealed the wedding has now been called off.

I spoke to a member of his family just last week who mentioned the wedding was being postponed because of the Covid bubble. K. Foran is his best man and couldn't make it to Byron Bay from the northern beaches, several others couldn't enter from Qld. The texting story is a beat up and the Telegraph have again shown just what a rag they are.

Would seem Danny Buderus doesn't yhink it is a beatup.

So far, apart from Aloiia, I have only heard dramas involving players from other clubs. Very happy with the fact that no Tigers players are doing stupid stuff. The Mitchell Pearce texting potentially could derail Newcastle's season, particularly if key players are angry with him. Apparently the players at SGI were divided on their support for DeBelin and it showed. I'm feeling we have a united, determined group to follow this year.

Hbom, upon further investigation I may have been a bit wide of the mark but one thing I do know now is that there are several other very nervous players at the Knights...
