wow. I would've bet he was gone for all money.
Two hung juries.
Pretty rare to have a third crack.
He was lucky it wasn't just he said she said and there were two he saids.
He still has to live with never being found not guilty.
I already know how this will play out. He will be intensely booed to start with. Over time, people will forget that he was never found "not guilty". The narrative will be spun so people feel he was never convicted by the judicial system, and that he should be allowed to move on with his life.
My only hope is that there are now more women in our game, amongst broadcasters, clubs and other areas. I hope they put pressure on their dumb-male-jock peers to not just let this slide and pretend it never happened.
Edit: Never mind. Turns out people are already misinformed and bigoted. Here are some :hankey: ? comments I read on the Fox League Facebook page. Don't read on if you still have your innocence and have any faith in humanity. I can't believe people attach their name and face to these comments.
Are you for real mate? The guy was innocent the entire time
So now we await the name of the “woman” that instigated this frivolous investigation. I hope he absolutely ‘hammers’ her and takes everything she has through defamation proceedings.
So 2 years sidelined and he is now free to play!! He can win his own court case just for that wasted his time being sidelined ....Welcome back Jack just what the dragons needed!! ?
Thank goodness sanity has prevailed, the poor bloke has lost the best years of his career!
I knew all along he didn't do it now his career is cut short by the NRL & THE Australian Justice System. Pretty sad what he & his family went through
The girl should be sued for defamation and damages done. For lagging his career by 3 years and all legal costs.
Thank the lord. This happens so much with females now in society where they regret there actions the next morning, then claim rape against innocent young men.

>Own up to your actions!!!

I’m sure he will be sueing for damages and legal expenses well done for fighting it mate!!!!
For the record, here are the facts.
- Jack de Belin had an affair while his partner was 8 months pregnant.
- The women whom he had the affair with accused him of rape.
- The case went to court twice, with the jury being hung both times. This means a unanimous verdict could not be reached. It means he is neither guilty or not guilty. He is afforded the presumption of innocence in the court of law only. What society makes of the matter is a different story.
- The Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to pursue a third trial. The result is the charges were dropped.
