Player signings around the Grounds

Bradford Bulls just went into liquidation.
I know they were in the 2nd tier, but is there anyone there we should be looking at?

It actually happened a few weeks ago

I think I mentioned it in this thread or another

They went into administration in November or so - liquidation was only confirmed overnight.

“We found out on Tuesday afternoon,” the club’s interim general manager, Stuart Duffy, said. “We were looking forward to good news and had heard nothing to the contrary over the holiday period. Everyone is in total and utter shock.”

But yeah, I imagine their squad would be mostly dross.

We shoulda signed Jacob Gagan from Chronulla before the Knights did.
He's a weapon.

#5000 post club.

Hold tight

Ben Hunt signed with St George for a reported just under a million a season for 6 years.

Will Uncle Wayne send him to the Jets seeing he has the perfect replacement in Benji ?? :roll

Oh wait Benji's not a 7 is he ….or a 6 .....

Very interesting…I wouldn't BET on him seeing out the year at the Donks..

Hunt to Dragons is good news for us. The Dragons were obviously prepared to splash out big money for a marquee play maker and would probably have come after Moses pretty hard. I can't see really Moses to Broncos. Dogs remain the biggest threat for mine, or Knights throwing stupid money around…

Wow.

Ok Anthony Milford could play 7 and played there with Canberra. Hope Wayne was watching through the Sheens years, Marshall plays at 6 not 7.

It would not surprise me though if Wayne leaves Marshall in the centers. There are vacancies there for Brisbane. He can then sign a quality 5/8 from another team (Moses, Jack Bird maybe, Lachlan Coote perhaps?). Wayne can probably get the player he wants or his next choice for less then other teams. Marshall can then play utility Or mentor the new 5/8.

Ben Hunt is a great player, but for a 1 million a season I would pack his bags. Hey I don't even think DCE is worth that.

Its being reported as $6mil for 5 years plus a one year option. Thats 1.2mil a year - madness. I suppose its the lengths Saints believe they have to go to to attract players. Moses would be rubbing his hands with glee seeing a player like Hunt getting that sort of coin.

Let's take the WTs glasses off for a moment,Ben Hunt is a very good half back, his position is sought after by some clubs because half backs are scarce at the moment..is he worth that much ? probably not,but the Dragoons seem to think so..if Hunt was to come to our club on the same money as Brooks is on at the moment, then I would take him without batting an eyelid…as for Moses,he is improving all the time and with another season where he shines as a playmaker then maybe he can command big money, but he has to be consistent and confident in his game all year, which I personally think he will be...Moses will leave Brooks in his wake if Luke doesn't start performing like an NRL halfback should..and that means leading the team and controlling the play for 80 mins, not go missing at times..he has had time now to adjust to the NRL game, its up to him to grab it by the throat..

I don't think he has been the same since the GF TT

six years is one hell of a punt, but desperate clubs have to make desperate calls to attract quality. Also really what is a contract these days, a few years down the track and they discover a better and cheaper option they just shop him around to another desperate club and pick up half the tab.

I hope he goes well for the Dragons, brave move to leave QLD and head south, but I get the feeling there was no love lost between Hunt and Uncle wayne

I do agree about the gf Happy, but maybe the change of environment and different coaching could expel the demons still in his head….he is a good player, only time will tell if that game has had an adverse effect on his game,I do wish him all the best, many good players have overcome bad critical games..

He is a good player not a great player - he has played behind a class pack and last year was way below par. His kicking game is nothing out of the box and although being a better defender than both of our halves he has the luxury of tough nuts protecting him. Good luck to him on scoring a big contract - i think he will earn his money the hard way at saints.
