My thinking was along the lines of whoever received the most No.1 Plodder Nominations throughout the Year rather than a cumulative total of Plodder points…which I couldn't really be bothered doing...

That Plodder would then receive the Anasta Grand Poobah of Plodders Award for 2017..

Also we have to give more thought to who qualifies as a Plodder in our Squad of Plodders as If this is worst on Ground it is different to being a Plodder as you say Teddy could have a stinker of a game...he is far from a Plodder but with all things even Ploddering outliers exist...

I also think there should be an Award to the poster who can slip in the term Plodder the most into 1 post...A Plodder whisperer if you like...

My thinking was along the lines of whoever received the most No.1 Plodder Nominations throughout the Year rather than a cumulative total of Plodder points…which I couldn't really be bothered doing...

The Roosters look like the club to target for an outside back:

Latrell Mitchell
Michael Gordon
Blake Ferguson
SKD
Daniel Tupou
Ryan Matterson
Joseph Manu
Dale Copley

Something has to give there. I'd be happy with any of Matterson, Manu, Copley or even Tupou. Matterson would be my pick of the bunch but I suspect they'll have him in mind for a utility role in the 17.

As good as he's been playing, I can't see Michael Gordon playing fullback with Latrell Mitchell there. You'd imagine SKD and maybe Ferguson the centres. Then its out of Gordon, Copley, Tupou, Manu, Matterson of then two remaining backs positions.

You also have to keep in mind of the "ins" like Liddle, Paseka, Marsters, Tatola, Jacobs, Felise, B Sirro etc.

The current problem is the lack of balance in the forwards and backs. We aren't promoting many/any backs from our NYC squad, while we've let go nearly all of our outside backs from this years nsw cup side.

I'm sure we will sign some more 2nd tier backs in the very near future though. It's just a shame to lose 3 of our most promising outside backs. Karwhin did have attitude problems apparently, can't see Bennett giving him a shot.

I'm guessing we'll be signing some more Hunt/Addo Carr type 2nd tier signings soon. Not household names, but one's who'll eb our depth or be the youngsters pushing for a crack.

Heleta is the only outside back left busting a gut for a shot. Suli and Papenhuyzen are probably too young to get much of a look in next year, but you never know…!
