Players MIA

Strangely I thought they all played pretty good bar the 6 - 7 & 9….and 3 (Blake)
The guys you want firing all were pretty poor.
Everyone else was good.
Bell...I thought he went real good, eased my concerns
Humble....looks creative and slick
Blair - not bad
Fulton was awesome, as was Groat and our wingers terrific

Ink…. When did u start making sense???

Agree 100 percent with ur post.

I know its not what the OP meant but I thought one of the most obvious MIA yesterday was A. Fifita. After all the bluff & bluster…..nothing. No big strong runs, no running at Blair, no big hits. Just one trademark sideways run that end ed with him getting smashed and losing ground.

Whilst I was sad watching Gibbs put in his usual 120%, I was as happy watching Fifita in sky blue as I was Morris.

Ithink Ayshford & Lawrence both missed 5 tackles each, Lawrence to me looked short of a run & will be much better for the hit out. Fifita runs that wide he nearly ended up in stand with one cross field run.

Big Andrew just made no impact on the line at all - he hit the defenders and dropped to the ground like a sack of spuds (if he ever plays origin I will walk backwards to Broken Hill!)

Guys I know both sides had to contend with the conditions but it was really hot and humid out there - would have had a big impact on holding on to the pill, while we were rusty I spotted many, many encouraging signs!

I didn't think Asford was that bad, not many opportunities, on the day but he always seems to run hard and make ground. I always think he is going to get smashed because he looks like he has tooth pick legs. Lawry was the quite one for me.

Obviously the players who rely on speed struggled
Also both centers really struggled to get early clean ball
It had been through 3 hands by the time they got it… I think the team lacked pressure... I didn't really see us play much of a field position game

I thought the player who was most guilty of going MIA was Ellis. He did not have much input at all, but he wuold not have been used to those conditions. Also it was noticeable that Robbie was short of a run.

On the other hand, I though Woods, Groat, Bell and Humble had great games. We really went forward with Woods on the field, and he made a lot more ground than Galloway did. Humble looked ready to make a break every time he returned the ball.

I think the Sharks outside backs deserved some credit too. Lawrence never had any room to move when he got the ball as the Sharks slide defence was very effective on both sides of the field. And to think I described them as too old!

And for what it is worth, the best no-try is a double movement everyday of the week. Had he extended his arms whilst he was still sliding then that would be another story.

5 missed tackles
2 ineffective tackles
3 Errors

I'm not sure that even includes his brain explosion of going for an intercept and getting nowhere near the ball.

He'll bounce back because he is a good player but he had a bit of a shocker yesterday. FWIW Lawrence had 2 missed tackles, 1 ineffective, 1 error).
