It's actually a good watch I like to hear different opinions


Some people are stuck in there ways and don't have the mental capacity to hear something different they are contamination bias on a unconscious level and even when presented the true still can not believe it


I remember when smoking was healthy and the doctors recommend it how things have changed

Watched about 5 minutes before losing interest. Whilst it is 'right wing drivel' there are some half truths there.
He is pointing at the rise of one nation as proof of a public shift away from the left and making the usual anti-left false claims to justify this.
He has failed to address the complete collapse of the coalition in the polls. One nation has risen off the back of taking the right vote off the coalition plus a few disgruntled left voters.
As to the rise of one nation itself... obviously I'm heavily left leaning but I've no issues with a liberal Government if you want greater fiscal responsibility and reduced spending. One nation however would be a disaster on both fronts.

Any time I think about the 1 nation party, I think about those two clowns going over to the USA to try to get NRA backing. Then basically spending the trip displaying exactly how moronic and amateurish the 1 nation mob are. Yet people still vote for them. Please explain that one!
 
One nation scare the hell out of me. They will put us back fifty years. Sadly they will only get more support while the ALP and Libs/Nationals continue to flounder. We need a party that is willing to make unpopular calls if our kids and grandchildren are going to have things we take for granted. Personally I like a lot of the greens policies but they are way to far left field to attract enough votes.

At present our two major parties owe to many favours to their backers to be effective
 
A problem we have now is that is media voices on both sides, but many have deferred to easy, low hanging fruit and talking points.

Topher is a conservative voice, no doubt and a voice, amongst others, that is needed to provide balance.

But it's more cookie-cutter, combative commentary that, whilst important to provide alternate viewpoints, can be lazy and bias pejorative angles more often than not.

There are good ideas on both sides of the aisle, both classicly left and right side of politics and how they manifest in today political climate.

My hope is that more people are willing to engage in conversation with alternate viewpoints and get to the best solution, not just the partisan solution that fits their narrative.

I think you're just seeing a carbon copy of what's happening in other countries.

The "conservative" parties have slowly moved left. The "progressive" parties have moved further left.

Now Liberal is the old Labor and Labor is Socialist and a bit Communist depending on the elected member.

So Australia now has a centre-left party with a few conservative policies and a Socialist party.

I thing a lot of old Liberal voters don't think that Liberal stands for anything anymore.

Secondly, across broader politics, people feel that politicians are simply doing things for votes. The incentive is votes, rather than good policy. In a nutshell anyway.
 
Chris Bowen has also provided a daily update on how many petrol stations around the country are today out of either petrol or diesel.
The latest numbers on service stations across the country are below:
  • NSW: 178 with no diesel, 48 with no stock.
  • Queensland: 55 with no diesel, 33 with no regular unleaded.
  • Victoria: 45 with no diesel (down 20) and 72 with no unleaded, (down 70).
  • South Australia: Nine with no diesel, 10 with no unleaded.
  • Western Australia: 40 with no diesel, and 14 with no unleaded.
  • Tasmania: Five with no diesel, nine with some sort of outage.
  • No outages in the Northern Territory that are attributable to a lack of fuel supply.
  • ACT: Two with no diesel and one with no unleaded.

The baseline of all parties should be first and foremost a growth in revenue outside GST, income and company taxes.

I think whether you are left or right or centre, we could all agree that if politicians and parties first obligation to the people is to pursue policies that grow revenue outside the regular tax base we would force a rethink in how they operate.

More revenue is good for all parties.

The way they spend it is something we can all vote on.

Politicians just blow our tax money...

If you calculate your tax paid, then look at taxes within your expenses (GST, Fuel Excise, alcohol taxes, cigarette taxes ++++) the amount of taxes we pay is criminal.

I know how you feel, I throw up a little every time i see this moronic clown. Yet 29% say they will still vote for him. What an embarrassment. Please explain
