How the hell do you cope with watching the West’s Tigers week in week out ?

Can only die of aortic dissection once mate haha...

Wow, just wow. Have read concerns on here about the laws that our governments have been implementing and we are seeing it play out in the state of NSW that most of us reside on the media.

To see our deputy premier utilise a law they passed and use an anti-terror type squad to raid the family home of an employee of a media outlet that has been highlighting potential corruption of that politician, is just plain wrong.

Things like this and the secret trials long being conducted by our federal government are disgusting.

No this is a different event. Bruz is suing Shanks for defamation over his videos where he puts on Italian accents and accuses him of corruption. That's been on the boil for a while now.

Shanks' employee Kristo was arrested at home by counter-terror squad after attempting to hand over incorrect legal documents to Barilaro. Barilaro went to the police and subsequently lied (the encounter was filmed by Kristo,) and had the CT squad arrest him on dodgy evidence. Apparently one of the CT members pushed his 61 year old mother over.

This is why Shanks is going to jury, he doesn't trust a judge to preside over it fairly.

Tracy Grimshaw and her hack crew at ACA must be crapping their pants because if you can be arrested for presenting incorrect legal documents to a plaintiff then her crew ought to be locked up for every time the accost a neighbour from hell or dodgy tradesman.

Sorry, I have been a bit more distracted of late, though see that CB has already addressed a bit of it.

I am just disgusted at the abuse of power weilded over the past few years and this latest attack at state level has take it to another level here. I will not bother with my local assembly member in Catley is she is in opposition, but intend to contact some on the Legislative Council in the near future, as this is not on and changes need to be made to prohibit such occurring again.

Wonder how many women who have had stalking complaints butchered or ignored have heard this story and thought "what the hell?"

Really good to see the sister of her sick Biloela sibling returned from exile on Christmas Island disembark with her father in Perth a matter of minutes ago to be together as a family.

Just as good to see a few others join O'Dowd and Zimmerman's voices to drown out some of the darkness that has long controlled the coalition. I don’t extend my thanks as far for Katie Allen, as being a paediatrician, her voice should have long been the loudest.

My local federal member (liberal) also raised issues with the way this fiasco has been handled. It is long overdue that the more moderate liberals took a moral stand on this issue but the cynic in me thinks that is partly due to what happened to the federal seat next to us where Abbott was thrown out at last election.I live in a strong liberal seat but it has very few of the extreme nutters in the electorate.

Yeah it is great that some are finding their voice, yet we still have fossil fuels holding the loudest voices and their election campaigns will almost certainly again target the dark fringe cohorts amongst us to get them over the line. So basically power at the expense of community.

With Morrison this goes right back to the ripping apart the life of the winning Liberal candidate with false allegations, to usurp him in the safe seat. Early on in shadow cabinet he was reported to have voiced ideas to create anti Muslim strategies for election (remember Hunt the only voice otherwise, who was shown to not have been in attendance), to then having his dirty hands controlling information with "on sea matters" when in government and later moved his putrid mitts to being all over the deadly Robodebt fiasco in ascending positions from the beginning and right up to the end. Then there is that smirking when bringing a lump of coal into parliament.

I only feel hate, actual hate, for one individual and it is our PM. Short rant over.

Serious question......

Do you think that if two people are in Australia on a ***temporary*** protection visa, meaning they do not have permanent status and are likely to be asked to leave/deported that if those two people have children here it qualifies them for permanent residency?

Each and every case should be handled on its merits and not some mandatory rule. There should always be common sense applied, due you honestly think if they were white poms/yanks overstaying their visa they would have been incarcerated the same way?As i said common sense should be applied something our :hankey: government do not understand

100% if they were white they would have been incarcerated the same way. I frankly find it astounding that you think this happened based on race.

I personally have friends that are eastern european (very white), she had an MBA, he was a Dr, kids in school here, paid massive taxes and fees and when their VISAs ran out they had to leave (he was older than 45). If they didnt they would have been incarcerated for breaking the law. If all they had to do was have a kid here....

If all you had to do was have kids here on a temporary protection visa to get permanent status, EVERYONE would do it.

I said each case should be judged on its merits. The town where these people lived have been at the forefront in trying to keep them permanently there.

So? The town my friends lived in in SA loved our friends and they were contributing to the local community a hell of a lot more.

Each case should NOT be judged on its merits. There needs to be (and there is) clear rules regarding this so that everyone can make plans based on these rules. I genuinely feel sorry for this family and on the surface of it, I really feel for those kids, but their parents actually made the decision to have them intentionally with no residency or hope for residency in Australia. I feel for these people and there is a whole industry of "refugee advocates" encouraging them to get around the rules, but the people that get hurt are these kids.

I genuinely feel for these kids and this family, but if they are allowed to stay, against all the same rules that THOUSANDS of others have been judged against, I also feel for those thousands that have abided by the law and not been able to stay.

So, apparently Scummo is making an announcement today (4/5) about "unwanted pests" in our environment?

I can write it for him: "I am one. I'm leaving for Hawaii, permanently".

What a joyous day that would be for Australia.

At least it is Morrison and hopefully we dont have to witness Albo weave his magic on the country

One trillion dollars in debt. LNP sound management in motion.

You must be Gerry Harvey or Gina Rinehart to blindly continue to back them.

Doesn't worry Scomo - he won't have to worry about repaying it - those sort of things usually fall on to the Labor party to get things back on to even keel before being shafted again for those born to rule.

Easy the interests rates will go up and it's 2.2 trillion with the state and federal government
Combined the interests payments on that wow and also the easy money the banks been lending form the federal government to prop up the housing market that runs out on the 30 of June Scomo Economics he just have to get to election day holding it together then it can all fall apart

Unless you fully understand the situation that occurs in many of Central Qld towns when a project comes to town ....you'll never understand why people like this are so vital ....for example they sometimes are forced to close the Meatworks at Biloela because they can't man it ..many other businesses the same occurs ....the fast food businesses are forced to close their drive thrus because they can't man them

My point is many businesses can't operate properly ...and it is the contractors coming to the businesses in your question

If the people mentioned are happy to come and fill positions that the many other lazy , no gooders who are happy to sit in the cities and take Unemployment benefits aren't willing to do

I do fully understand that, which backs up what I am saying.

This "family" were here on temporary protection visas. I use the "" because they did not come as a family, they met here and had kids here. It is the terms of the TPV that you are not here permanently and will be returned home. End of story. Irresponsible to have a child under those circumstances let alone two. I dont particularly blame the parents, Im sure there were many refugee advocates advising them.

Everyone else from SL on a TPV are returned.

Why I say it backs up what I am saying is this.......I obviously do genuinely feel for this family, it sucks and I can put myself in their shoes, but they new the rules. I can also put myself in the shoes of other TPV holders and more importantly (and this is where your concern for regional industry kicks in) the THOUSANDS applying for refugee status through the correct channels or applying to immigrate. There is no shortage of people wanting to come here.
