Oh yeah "Honest" John never told a lie!!! Children Overboard anyone?? It only didn't affect anyone because Costello didn't have the kahunas to act on it and because Howard wouldn't let it go.

How exactly does Gillard's "lies" about the lead-up to the leadership spill affect the whole country? It's just ridiculous to suggest it did. People had a general election very shortly afterwards to offer their assessment.

C'mon Yoss you don't have to bash the coalition all the time mate , You never hear me bashing Julia ,my mate Swanny or Kevin 17 . 😱pen_mouth:

Wow… classy. Care to make some gags on dead soldiers or drowning refugees while you're running hot?

I never said Howard didnt tell porkies :unamused:

I never said the leadership spill affected the whole country either. I said her lies do and a classic example is the carbon tax. You will never admit that though as you are even more one eyed than I am.

My question is why was she lying about this? To what end? She would be respected more if she came out and said Kev was doing a poor job so I took it off him so we could stay in power. I dont think anyone from either side would care about that. Kev was crap and had to go. Instaed she hid behind the powerbrokers of the party and wants us to believe that it was a spur of the minute decision. Only the most simple would believe that one.

Question…What income figure do most consider makes you rich? Labor and the Greens believe its a joint income of $166K a year. As a result these 'geniuses' are going to scrap the private health care rebate.

The untold havoc this will create to the hospital system will be incredible. Figures suggest around a million people will drop out of private health as a result....dont get sick.....

Well after gillards health care rebate bill got passed today one very staunch labor family has called it quits and is going liberal we have had enough carbon tax, mining super tax, no more health rebates I don't care if shes bein pressured by the greens or however she needed to grow some ballz

Surely the cost to implement means testing of the PHCR would far outweigh the benefits in terms of people leaving private health care?

Does anyone have any numbers on what the potential "savings" are for the government by implementing this?

And who could forget the classic line - "There is no way that the GST will ever be part of our policy." Tell me that one didn't affect the whole population - I'm still bloody paying for it!

Im just a tradie but the immigration budget use to be 200million now it is over 1 billion . Cut it back to 200 million and look how much u save ?? then stop taxing the ppl who earn money in this country . But then again a labour govt sees the illgal boats as future voters they come the tax payer pays for as many kids as they can pop out then live in welfare for generations and GUESS what future labor family voters they just keep multiplying , check out what happen in england ? . looking at Gillards track record of lies gee you would have to question the truth on a carbon tax ??

Well CB my saving will be that I want to keep my family from an overworked ,understaffed public system where my family could wait months or years for surgery

Hang on didn't Julia and her cronies say there were going to fix this as well

This govt has no perception of what is happening in the real world with how prices of everything are skyrocketing

Please people of the forum and the nation vote these imbeciles out 😛ray:

Why should government subsidise the insurance costs of people who can afford to pay it? It was not just middle class welfare it was upper class welfare. You say your a staunch Labor family? If you support big mining companies, don't care about climate change, and the subsidising of private health at the expense of public hospitals you were never a Labor voter or at best you were a very confused Labor supporter. The Liberal Party is the party you should vote for but I'm sure the ALP have been grateful for your misguided vote up til now…

The entire budget of DIAC is around $1 billion. This includes handling irregular maritime arrivals, skilled migration, student visas, travel visas, airport controls and stacks of other things. If you cut 80% of the budget they'd hardly be able to power their buildings. Without skilled migration the economy would fall apart.

Irregular maritime arrivals were around 6000 last year. 6000… The Government is obliged to accept anyone who can prove they are a genuine refugee. Even the Coalition accepts this. Processing IMAs in Nauru doesn't change this.

If you seriously think the ALP welcomes IMA you have rocks in your head. The numbers don't even come close to making up for the negative impact arrivals have on the general public as your post shows.

And there ladies and gentlemen is the moronic ideaology of the Labor party and its supporters.

Yossarian, if you think that a family that earns over 165K a year is rich than you are dangerously dillusional. This deletion of the carrot for most families to acquire private health insurance will descimate the public hospital system.

…but thats OK because Labor can now use these funds to help gain surplus before the elections... :crazy

Guess what mate, he may have flipped on that decision but he did so BEFORE he took it to an election. The public must have wanted it because he was voted back in. Gillard lied to get in and then flipped.

That is a massive difference…surely you can see that?

No if you say someone on 165K a year needs to be fully subsidised for something they can afford themselves you're delusional. That's over 3k a week before tax. The highest premium on BUPA is $97 a week for a couple. Even if that includes the rebate we're talking less than $30 a week. Pay your own damn health insurance!!

It won't decimate anything - the money being wasted on helping well off people afford to buy another TV is better off spend ON the public health system.

You can bluster all you like but the policy makes zero sense. The Medicare surcharge will still mean it is more economical for wealthy people to take out private health cover. They can afford it and to suggest otherwise is insulting to both our intelligence.

Hang on Yoss it was still 83 k for a single A single could still be a single parent with a couple of kids ,mortgage etc Here is an idea instead of continually taking from us Yoss Why don't they take from themselves for once This is the problem with Labor they always lie The Coalition just doesn't always tell the truth Huge difference in my mind

 I know it must be a hard job for you to come on here and constantly defend the indefensible but can you please try to correctly quote people?

The $166K is per HOUSEHOLD not PER PERSON. You Labor cronies are hillarious I have to say…thanks for the laugh.

Who is they? Are you talking about the family with three kids where dad earns $90k a year and mum earns $80k? Yeah they are REALLY rich. Thanks to your idiot mob they are struggling big time. Why should they stay in private health...a system which benefits everyone else, when they are again to be shafted. They may as well go back to public and bludge off the system and guess what? they will. Its been estimated there are a million people in this bracket. You think the waiting queues are long now? give it 6 months!

They can afford it? That mantra is ridiculous in the extreme. Give yourself an uppercut.
