A Treasury analysis released under Freedom of Information laws yesterday shows the Coalition will have to impose an effective carbon price of **$62 a tonne of carbon** abated compared with $29 under the government's scheme.

Then there's his direct tax on big business to fund his maternity scheme. 1.5% of the top 3,200 companies - everyone from banks, Westfarmers (Coles) Woolworths etc. And who ends up paying that? The Aussie consumer. Talk about a great big new tax on everything Phony!!

Using 2011 statistics (Couldn't find anything official for 2012) China's average weekly wage is…$180 AUD and Australia's average weekly wage.. ready for it... $1019 AUD

^ Of course you take into consideration that there are many more people in China compared to Australia, so if China's carbon tax is a lot less per person but having more people you can expect it to be pretty similar to Australia's.

(Also, you'll be interested in knowing China emits much less carbon than Australia.)

Australia = $23 a tonne
China = $1.50 a tonne

According to 2009 statistics (http://data.worldbank.org) China's emissions were 5.8 tonnes annually compared to Australia's emissions of 18.2 annually.

Taking that into account -
China = $11,571,387,532
Australia = $8,793,659,966 payed towards carbon

So essentially, they are paying more for tax when they are emitting less.

Have you ever been to a major city in China and tried to see very far through the pollution?
The carbon tax won't be payed by people - but by companies (same as here).
The emissions you talk about are PER PERSON (as at 2009).
We have 22 million x 18.2 and they have over 1.3 billion x 5.2
Still think they are emitting less?
PS The big companies there will simply bribe inspectors and pay bugger all like they do now with the pollution tax.

He rides horses, rides bikes, Runs, Swims, Surfs, kisses babies, and can leap buildings in a single bound.

Lets just see if he wins the next election his political actions match his policies.

If the party can forget their objections against Rudd for leadership of the Labour Party and install him as leader again, he would stand a better chance of winning the next election for them.

If he wins the next election after a few months they could get rid of him and install Julia again, talk about DeJavu.
