TT I am incredibly interested in US politics and I study it closely. I keep my opinions and politics to myself in here because it is effectively an echo chamber and I dont see any merit in it. OccassionaIly I see something egregious enough that I have to step in but I try to get out as fast.

I personally wouldnt use hose sources that you quoted as I feel they are a long way from balanced. Candice Owen says many things that are correct but she is not an honest broker, she has an agenda.

If you want a truly balanced outlook on what is going on in the US at the moment, I would recommend Bret Weinstein (lefty).

No punishment for her at all. What kind of signal is that sending?

I think the current obsession with race comes from a good place (anti-racism) but it is going about it in the worst, most counter-productive way imagineable. It is emphasising people's race, *defining* them by their race, so instead of becoming colour-blind, we are becoming colour-obsessed. You're not a nurse, with a passion for cats and Korean music, who is learning French and supporting the Wests Tigers, with dreams of buying a hobby farm in Tasmania. You're simply a black person, or a white person. I vaguely recall Obama talking about seeing America becoming a 'post-racial' society. Well the current approach has done a 180 degree turn and is speeding away from that as fast as possible.
