On the plus side, now academics have labeled me a "non-birthing parent" and my wife a "gestational parent".....
Nothing like living in the enlightened all inclusive 2021.....
Seriously?!?!
Apparently its true - can't remember what uni it was but it was suggested that that is how mother and father should now be referred to. I'd like to know how the child differentiates if they are adopted - both parents are non birthing parents. I can see it now - 13 yr old adopted child gets asked who that is - oh thats my female non birthing parent. However there would be those who would frown on the use of "female". So a more politically correct reply from the 13 yr old would be " thats my female at birth non birthing parent".
Are these people real?
What is happening?
It is all intentional. It is Critical Theory, which is cultural marxism out of the Frankfurt School in the 1930's and later developed in France. A core component is that there no claim to the universality of absolute truth. As such, Critical Theory does not grant primacy to matter (materialism) or consciousness (idealism).
*"The facts, which our senses present to us, are socially performed in two ways: through the historical character of the object perceived, and through the historical character of the perceiving organ. Both are not simply natural; they are shaped by human activity, and yet the individual perceives himself as receptive and passive in the act of perception."* - Traditional and Critical Theory (Horkheimer 1937)
Critical theory states that the only reason that you think of yourself as "the father" and your wife as "the mother" is a result of human activity and as such is not real. Cultural Marxism state that this human activity is based on patriarchal oppression and should be removed. Critical Race Theory states that this human activity is based on white patriarchal oppression.
A tenet of Cultural Marxism is that with Critical Theory, that is critical analysis of what we see as "facts" then these fundamental elements can be reinvented and in doing so remove many of the fundamentals that underpin established institutions and systems that make up post enlightenment western civilisations. Good example is that BLM had on their "what we believe" page that they are "trained marxists" and that they stand for the removal of the idea of the nuclear family.

Cultural Marxism say that once you accept 2 + 2 = 5 then you can accept other changes. This is what is underpinning the massive changes that leave the rest of us scratching our heads.
