POLL: ESAN MARSTERS

@fair-dinkum you honestly think mbye had a better year then marsters? I can only think of one decent game mbye played for us at centre. Rest of the year he was hurt or doing his best Chicharito impression at FB.

He was good in 2018, poor in 2019

He has ability, I'd prefer to see what happens in 2020.

Is Esan like Star Trek films, good for the even outings and bad for the odd?

Yeah dunno. That would require me to watch a Star Trek film...

Well, watch the even ones.

Pass...

Mbye is a far superior player to Esan in every way possible.

Knowing what Esan is capable of, he's a definite keeper.
But whether he wants to stay or not... late form says not. So it's probably his call.

Even if Mbye did only play one good game all year that would be one more than Marsters.

@cktiger marsters had a shocker against Cronulla but I didn't think he cost us as many games as mbye did playing fullback. Maybe I'm being biased against the bloke but 950k for a centre/ utility seems ridiculous. I would say he's having a more negative effect on the club then marsters.

Could Esan be a victim of 2nd year syndrome ?

Quite possibly he is. Also in 2020 he will have the benefit of a break from football for an extended time, something the kiwi tour did not allow for this season

Good decision. I watched my first one last week, a fairly recent one, dunno if it was odds or evens but i know it was crap.

I like Mbye but not at that price. I don't think he is getting paid that amount though.

@Earl https://www.zerotackle.com/rugby-league/players/highest-paid-players/
Has him in the top 20 highest paid.

From that site:- contract values are based on reported figures and as such, cannot be viewed as being 100% accurate.

I don't know how much he is getting paid but that figure seems way overs. I think he was good in the centres for us this year but surely that wouldn't put you anywhere near the top 20 players in the comp list.

I reckon on his day...

@Earl yeah I was just going off the first thing I found. I'm sure I remember seeing his salary being mentioned a few times, enough for me to have thought it was way too much for him atleast.

Just spoke to my mate. He's friends with Esan's mother. She Said he's only had interest from bulldogs and cowboys. Also said that he's been dealing with a foot injury most of the year.
