Poll: Home Semi

Regardless of people's perceptions about Leichhardt's ability to host a final, **it's atmosphere is far superior than any of our home grounds,** out of our home grounds it's the ground teams would least like to play at, so already we've got a pyschological advantage and after all we play FOUR games there a year, we should be trying to make as much use out of the facility as possible.

I have to ask

How do you know that if you gave never been to Campbelltown…

The atmosphere aganst Manly and Parramatta at the SFS was by far the best I've been too this year....closely followed by the Panfers and Warriors at Cambo then the Cows at Leichhardt....

Geo, I've been to Campbelltown a few times, a Sharks game in '06, the heart breaking Newcastle game in '06, the Titans game in '07, the Warriors game in '07, the Storm game in '08 and the Knights game last year. I just haven't been there this year, and based on past experiences, I put Leichhardt up there in a league of it's own compared to Campbelltown.

 Well that's your opinion. It's definately not mine.

Nobody in their right mind could say Campbelltown, mate I've experienced first hand the atmosphere at Cambo, the game against Penrith was the first time the fans even turned up! And just for the record, the ground the capacity is the same as Leichhardt's (20,000).

I guess we disagree about that too.

Can I ask where you sit/stand at Leichhardt? I go to Leichhardt and stand on the hill and it is a dead set morgue. I find it close to the worse atmosphere and least intimidating ground in the NRL. I don't get what you lot go on about with regard to Leichhardt. I think some of you need to get out more and maybe attend other NRL grounds.

In saying that, yea, Manly and the Roosters would be really dreading going to Leichhardt. Nice 30 minute drive followed by a latte in a Leichhardt cafe…........or they are piled into a bus, spend 2 hours getting to Campbelltown and cop abuse all evening by heart and soul of the greater western suburbs.

The greatest atmosphere of any Tigers games have been at the SFS.

There is not one game at Campbelltown or Leichhardt that matches in atmosphere with the Dragons and Broncos semis of 2005 or the clash against Parramatta in 2009.

But I suppose now that this argument has been drawn to a close that there will be another one rolled out so the weary old soldiers can ressurect the lively debates of 2003 on the old message boards

I don't think the club will play at Leichhardt or Campbelltown as it could isolate half of the club's fans instead it will probably be the SFS or perhaps ANZ which used to be one of our home grounds but I think it will be the SFS.

Would love it to be LO but have to say SFS. That Sunday afternoon final v Brisbane in 05 is still a treasured memory. We filled that place and made plenty of noise. We can do that again this year.

That's true. The week after that when we played St.Choke was awesome too.

You have summed it up well as usual Smeg, SFS is where i expect the Tigers fans to be swarming over come finals time.

Leichhardt …..... this is where the players want to play it and I believe we would have our best chance of winning. The next home semi should be played at Cambo and alternate with Leichhardt every time after that.

The idea of a home semi is so you get a home town advantage. i don't feel that is best served by playing it at Moore Park.

Bang on Bob!

Its a home semi….keyword being _'home'_
Stuff the NRL
Stuff the money
Stuff the fans
The players want it there, they deserve the best _advantage_ they can get which is what a _home_ semi is all about

Home ground ADVANTAGE = LO or CS for me. Whilst I actually prefer CS, I think that other teams are intimidated a bit bythe hype surrounding LO, so why not use that to our ADVANTAGE?

I want to say LO because I live just round the corner but it just isn't up to scratch as a finals venue so I voted SFS. a succesful finals match at leichardt might attract some more funding though.

Money is irellevant as it goes to the NRL for finals games. I would think it would be in our best intersts to play at the SFS & fill it to capacity. THe 2 best games Ive ever been to atmosphere wise were 09 parra & 05 Brisbane (couldnt get tix to the st merge game). The SFS is the best ground in NSW to watch a footy game at. It would suck if we were to play Roosters the first week but who cares, I would rather have 40000 screaming supporters rather then 20000.

Please why are you all putting the cart before the horse. We haven't even made the top 4 yet. History says we will choke as per the last 4 seasons. If Melb carve us up which is possible and the Titans beat us then you can all whinge about having to travel to Brookvale to play Manly.
Just for the record Leichhardt is not the feared ground you all think. Opposition teams actually enjoy playing at Leichhardt…we should have been beaten on all 3 occassions there this year. Raiders were belted by the referee, Cowboys went to sleep and Cronulla were robbed.
