Poll: Home Semi

Please why are you all putting the cart before the horse. We haven't even made the top 4 yet. History says we will choke as per the last 4 seasons. If Melb carve us up which is possible and the Titans beat us then you can all whinge about having to travel to Brookvale to play Manly.
Just for the record Leichhardt is not the feared ground you all think. Opposition teams actually enjoy playing at Leichhardt…we should have been beaten on all 3 occassions there this year. Raiders were belted by the referee, Cowboys went to sleep and Cronulla were robbed.

Which teams enjoy playing there? At the end of the day the Tigers have played there 3 times this year and won all 3\. It will be 4 from 4 by 3:30pm this Sunday.

I would have to go with SFS. This year we have yet to play a decent game a LO, so the theory that it is a fortress doesn't work. The atmosphere suprisingly wasn't that vocal this year either by the fans. If cronulla, canberra and the cowboys can almost win whilst there with none of them playing spectacular football, than I don't think it has the intimidation factor we all believe it does. In years gone past it may have, and maybe in the finals the crowds will find their voice again. Either way, I think the SFS offers the best ground, best sales, best financially. The only way I would move it away from SFS is if it was the roosters but even then id be tempted to leave it at the SFS.

This home ground/state semi thing is crap imo. Finals games should be played at the best stadiums across the country to maximise profits and exposure for the game as a whole.

In the words of David Byrne, "….stop making sense, stop making sense..."

Wests fans can go to Campbelltown and watch on the big screen
Tigers fans can go to Leichhardt and watch on the big screen

Wests Tigers fans can go to the SFS and actually support the team.

Come on, we are not even cemented in the top 4 anyway.

Garanteed if we move it to the SFS we will have around 70 or more % Wests Tigers fans. It's been that long, we want as many people out there to support the boys, which might mean sacrificing our own little graveyard in LO and move to SFS to bring the supporters out. Sell out there for sure!!

I love both cambo and the old girl but really we have to play at the SFS to maximise profits. also we seem to play well at the SFS and as we all know we are undefeated in semi final football. if we want semis played at one of our home grouns then we need a capacity of around 30,000\. i know cambo and leichardt have had renos done but if we put all our eggs in one basket and put decent money into 1 of those grounds to get it to that capacity then yes play them at that gorund but until then i dont think we have much choice. just my opinion guys

If we get a home semi it will be at the SFS. But I like that the club is pretending to be considering a LO semi so the NRL will give them cash. Very cunning.

If we play the Roosters would be happy to make them make the trip to Leichhardt. Although I can't see it happening and can sort of undertand why. Similarly if we play the Warriors we wouldonly get 20Kanyway, so Leichhardt would be perfect. Won't happen though.

Regardless of people's perceptions about Leichhardt's ability to host a final, it's atmosphere is far superior than any of our home grounds, out of our home grounds it's the ground teams would least like to play at

 Well that's your opinion. It's definately not mine.

well i figured that out in your previous posts

If it was to be at Campbelltown or Leichhardt wouldn't members of both clubs be able to purchase tickets starting from the same time. If so then our supporters could actually be outnumbered if we play a team from Sydney and our supporters don't buy tickets as quick.

You are right Alien - assuming we chose Leichhardt or Campbelltown and say we were to finish second and for instance Souths got to 7th, their members would have access to tickets at the same time as our members. They have a big member base of over 10,000 ticketed verse i would say around 5000 Wests Tigers ticketed members.

Therefore, relaistically they could actually outnumber WT fans at our home game 2 to 1\. All of a sudden Leichhardt may not be the fortress everyone thinks it is.

I thin the second priority period is for non-ticketed, this means they have another 7,000 to our 2,000\. So before the general public even gets a chance to buy a ticket Souths could actually have 3/4 of the crowd. Souths scould actually do what the Dragons did to us in 05 (SECURE THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE TICKETS) - AT OUR HOME GROUND!

This is why i think the SFS is the best option. It also shows why it is so important to be a member. Those who aren't members would have absolutely no chance of getting a ticket to a match at Leichhardt or Campbelltown.

That said, Souths - with the largest member base - I doubt very much will even be in the semis, and saints Illa with the 2nd largest have secured the MP, get their own home semi and is out of the equation as well.

Good point though

Those who bag the SFS obviously were not there for the Dragqueens qualifying final in 2005.

Exactly man….I went to both and enjoyed the Saints game more...winning the GF was pure relief...winning the semi was ECSTACY - the crowd was on fire that night, I couldnt talk for two days after it!
