How did we end up with a penalty?

Shouldve been a Sharks penalty imo.

Theres the game there, thankfully we got lucky

who cares the sharks got a try from a knock on which turned the game for them got them back into it makes up for it

if it was a tigers no try we would of all blown up on here i think we got very lucky tonight.if that display was against the rorters the scoreline would of looked more like them 60 us 6

didn't the ref call held? and judging from what i heard on the replay when i rewinded i heard a held call at about the same time gibbs came in for the tackle. 100% agree with the decision. In fact, the refs and the touchies were really quite good this evening. Lol at Blake Ferguson cracking it at the touchie, then seeing it on the big screen where his foot went into touch…

don't listen to the rubbish that the fox sports commentators tell you about being flabbergasted by the decision, they NEVER EVER seem to be watching the same game,

Case in point - They were swearing black and blue that gallen didn't knock on in that dodgy try to collis, where as when they went back to gordy, freeman, douchbag, and pearce after the game they took the piss out of the decision (gordy saying he "didn't knock on" when the ball went stright through his fingers was gold)

What about the Chris Lawrence No Try…that was a try

Bounce of the ball....footy God's...god damn Karma....who cares...

We WON.... :wahoo:

*insert Ostich photo here

It looked as though Pomeroy was held, but then Gibbs came and pushed 2 metres towards our line which then lead to him falling over the line. The call could have really gone either way, I'm just glad it went our's.

The ref called Held so the no try call was correct!

The sharks were unlucky, Pomeroy no try, Ferguson grounding ball on side-line, 40-24 out on the full.

But they had plenty of luck too. Dropped bombs bouncing straight into their hands, Lawrence no-try, Brown no try. I think it evened itself out - just the Sharks calls were more obvious.

Dont know why so called adults cant communicate like adults, if you dont wanna talk about it, prefer to ignore it….click on another thread. Im glad some can manage it
Bias is a strong thing, beats logic & reason every time

The ref called held Insane one, therefore no try. I was a little bemused at a double movement penalty though. I thought he would/should have made him play the ball. But the ref was obviously of the view that Pomeroy went on with it after the held call and therefore penalised. Just one of a bunch of odd decisions throughout the night, IMO. You play the crap teams you get the crap refs. I don't think I'd cope with those guys refereeing us week in week out.

Yeah, it was an ordinary decision…. In the replay, you can identify the ref's call. At that point, if the attacking player finishes over the line, the Try would stand. But in this instance, Ben did promote the ball to place it over the line.

I'm not fused either way.... We got some very poor calls in the first half which I believe kept the Sharks in the game. If those calls went given, we would of been ahead by 20 and Cronulla would of gone home... I'm also happy we got that call as it is about time we got our share of poor calls. We have been crucified for the last 2 years by similar stupid calls.

The rules are stupid and Ben deserved a try for ensuring he competed in that tackle and put himself in a position to score...

As Frank Hyde would say..."and folkes, that's Rugby League"

Rules are Rules… Ref called HELD... END OF STORY.... not sure why you cant get that.. very simple and LOGICAL!!!

x2….

another simple call .. the ref called held …pommeroy plays on ... penalty to the tigers ....
we see it week in week out in the juniors.. and the rules are no different in the seniors .....the referee is always RIGHT even when he is wrong....

Im not saying it shouldve been a try.
Yes i know he called held.
Then Gibbs comes in further into the tackle after the held call….slowing the play the ball
I wouldve thought he'd be penalised, he pushed pomeroy into the in goal. All of a sudden hes above the line, I'd plonk the ball down too.
The ref got it wrong
Some here dont know the rules. First infringement (Gibbs)
