Don't know much about them but may be cheap backups
Paul Sykes , centre , 92 kg , 33
Jordan Davies , centre , 96 kg , 24
Jamie Langley , prop second row , 103 kg , 31
Steve Southern , second row , 96 kg , 32
Scott Anderson , second row , prop , 102 kg , 28
James greenwood , prop , 110 kg , 23

These blokes would be cheap I think , how good they would go I'm not sure but I'm only thinking back up for any misfortune we may have

Going to the "past their use by date" section has not worked in the past. You either buy class or you pump every resource you can into your kids and hope you strike gold.

Trying to reinvent a career that peeked years ago is near impossible and I get the feeling Taylor is a lot smarter than a few people he has followed.

Steve Southern is an Aussie isn't he?

Yeah , his main Club was the Cowboys which he played about 5 or 6 years there . Red headed bloke with that mustache

Steve Southern is actually back in Australia

He actually works with a mate who is a mad WT's supporter as well over on Curtis Island in Gladstone on the LNG project

Coaching either Valleys or Wallabies in the local rugby league comp

Turns out my wife knows something about rugby league that I don't

Steve Southern actually coached Gladstone Brothers this year

Obviously wasn't paying too much attention to the juniors because I didn't see him once at any junior functions

 tiger , you were probably to busy on the Punt and sinking those XXXX to notice Mr Southern

C'mon FT I haven't sat down at a pub and been on the punt since before my kids were born

Give an old bloke a break

Can't stand southern comfort either

The point I was making was Southern was A Grade coach and didn't even show up at the juniors awards night or any other junior events

Yeah i believe you  , that is pretty piss poor from Southern Comfort , the kids really get a buzz out of seeing 1st Graders or ex 1st Graders at presentation nights.
Some of them forget there roots

Paul Skyes - cant defend and is playing for Leigh or Featherstone in the Championship. Would struggle to make NSW Cup
Jordan Davies - plays for Salford and ex rugby player…give a miss
Jamie Langley - Back to Bradford in the Champship...decent player in his day but not now
Steve Southern - Bluey was okay for NQL but is retired now
Scott Anderson - playing for Wakefield under James Webster - we dont need props
James Greenwood - see above but plays for Wigan or St Helens i believe.

All of the above would not make the NRL.

Players we should go after is:
Brett Ferres - 2nd rower for Huddersfield
Michael Lawrence - 2nd rower for Huddersfield - can play centre or wing also.
Kallum Watkins - centre for Leeds - all class player
Josh Jones - tough defensive centre for St Helens
Joe Wardle - Centre from Huddersfield
Liam Farrell - 2nd row from Wigan - 80 min player who runs good lines and can defend - he would be my pick.

Any of the above would be a good addition to our squad.

Some of the names trotted out in this thread would have been great signings 10 yrs ago.

And some would of only been worth it had they come free or with package deals with JT or GI

some should have just voluteered. We're a great club team. We ooze potential. The old adage is not wrong - money talks - ________ walks.
