Positivity's To Take Away From 2020

Well if the opening set of the season really described how it’s gone to be honest. This last game doesn’t mean much to be honest. Kind of know we won’t be winning it.

Not many on-field with the exception of Harry and Nofa but a few off-field including:

We paid the final instalment of the Robbie Farah Fine.
We started the COE
We publicly backed a coach (rightly or wrongly)
We walked away from Latrelle when that became a media circus

So not all doom and gloom. I think we are heading in the right direction albeit at glacial speed.

It’s almost over

This. I’ve never been so happy to see the end of a season. What a stinker.

I’m happy you’re happy. Now you will have a safe space for 4 months.

1- The unearthing and signing of Blore
2- Luciano, Madge has made him a beast
3- Liddles return, and finding form
4- GRANT- what a player
5- The release of deadwood (hopefully more to come)
6- and most importantly, we finally have a bloody goalkicker

Simply put ..Zero, 0 , nothing

1. Josh A stepping up, on and off the field
2. Lucy, potential meeting up with ability under Madge
3. Removing some under performing overpaid players of the roster, tried not saying deadwood, but it fits.
4. The removal of Benji, his terrible defence and his touch football style of play where every touch is a highlight, preventing us from building pressure and position like every top 8 side
5. AD, Blore, Asu &Stefan, all decent young players with bright futures in front of them.
6. Nofo, making me eat humble pie and showing that even against the best teams his can score
7. Grant, for showing the club why a quality competitive young hooker fully adapted to the modern style of play is essential for a top 8 side.
8. Liddle not getting injured.
9. West Tigers, even with those crap games where they gave their season away, they didn't lose, they gave them away, there has been enough "green shoots" to show us a glimmer of hope for 2021, and that is all we need.

Another finals series without having to worry about my blood pressure.
And I agree with an earlier poster, our recruitment of junior talent is looking much better.
That's about it really. Ho humm.

My cup is half-full of beer with harder stuff to follow Saturday night as my blood pressure rises severely for the last time this year.

Player loan deals work

And hopefully Harry’s legacy is that he showed us what it means to compete in every play. He gave us an insight into the Storm universe and Momo will bring some of that back. It’s up to those playing on in 2021 to take that on board.

My Highlights are primarily that I see the foundations of a decent forward pack building.

Josh A
Twal
Tom M
Luch
Garner / Sefarth
+ Tamou for guidance

Possibly Blore and Stefano whilst Liddle will be better in 2021

My other positive is that Packer and Jrey have only one more year to go.

Tigers fans will need to have another dose of the medicine but were starting to get better and we should have some $$ free.

Must admit this has been probably my most disappointing season in years. Usually at the end of the season there is a glimmer of hope for the following season, but this year without at least another two or even three quality signings we are going nowhere but down.

When you consider our best defensive player..Harry and our best attacking player Benji are gone, so you have to be worried.

Anyway sorry this post is about positives...let me mull about it for a week or two and I will try to find one

Positives:-
Josh A - quality NRL prop.
Luciano - quality edge backrower.
AD - lots of potential.
Nofo:- he has really stepped up this year.
Grant:- this is a negative as well but he is a special player.
Liddle:- looks likely and hasn't gotten injured. Bigger and quicker than Grant plus his service is great. He doesn't have Grant's footy nous or close to it.
Tamou signing is a good one.
Eisenhuth:- he has stepped up as well.

bbobb, you’ve eluded to the most important achievement in the clubs history, in my view.
The club has finally decided to back the coach.
This has signalled their intention to move to a more disciplined approach. I don’t know who’s responsible for this change and it doesn’t really matter. We can probably thank the media for giving it a nudge with their relentless criticism and “mediocre “ tag. Who cares. We are now heading in the right direction.

.........." at glacial speed."

That says it all.

G'day @mike Would Melbourne be as positive as Us? ie did they get the same value from Momorovski as We received from Grant?

It's not a matter of getting equal value I think it's more important that the deal actually worked and got through the NRL. Apart from injuries, no real downside to either party. Injuries occur and it is just a fact of life of an NRL player, loan deal or no loan deal.

So yeah Melbourne got value as well. They got Momo who played OK until injured and then they are getting Harry back with one year of NRL experience under his belt.
