Possible 2014 Signings

Its not knickers in a knot…its a combination of things like Mayer/Potter having an existing working relationship with him, having a proven track record of working with the club and many of its players, being off contract with Dragons, not costing a bundle given our current finances etc.

The chances of bagging a Folau/Thurston/Burgess is pretty bloody remote, but Folkes could be a value addition with little effort and little cost.

Thats about the lot of it. Stop making such a huge deal as if everyone is saying Folkes will bring us a premiership or something.

We've got Tedesco, Sironen, Simona, Nofoaluma, Brooks and Moses as dynamic young, highly touted backs coming through. Two of them are already bonafide (Simona, Nofoaluma), Sirro will destroy it next year in the back row, Tedesco after a full off season and 2 years behind him since his ACL injury and outside decent halves will kill it … that just leaves Moses and Brooks who are even MORE highly touted than the rest. If even one of them goes on with their promise we'll have a superstar that will make the difference to our side. If both do we'll be the best team in the league when they're 22/23\. Signings not needed. Plan for the future.

Its crazy - that is what it is. I mean how good are Saints going and why is Folkes getting the sack. I'm not stating he is terrible but anyone listing a strength and conditioning coach as a key signing is on something.

I sort of agree with this. I'm still a bit concerned about Tedesco but he might come good. Koro to me also looks likely. He has some mistakes in him but if he catches the ball and has some space he makes a bust.

Its a key signing because we are struggling with strength and conditioning. Signing a waterboy would be a key signing if we were struggling in hydrating players mid game…..

Actually - this is exactly what it sounds like. Tigers are on the rise because we have signed a top level waterboy.

I doubt that a strength and conditioning coach will ever be a key signing. I think we have one or two already and they are probably pretty good. You can get onto youtube and get a lot of good advice without even paying for it. This site is pretty good:- http://rosstraining.com/blog/. If someone sends the Tigers the link they might win the comp next year.

Well thats how I hear most top teams like Storm do it, tell players to youtube for tips and tricks….

I think Folke's record speaks for itself as posted a bit above.

Ask a Dragon's fan where they are struggling. They won't say defence nor metres. It's attack, and I don't want Folkes to make our attack better I want him to stop other teams putting 30 past us every week.

Not saying that Folkes willl be some enormous signing akin to Matt Scott but he will be a handy addition to our personnel which is not that great aside from Potter at the moment.

For comparison this is Royce Simmon's record "Simmons went on to become Panthers coach in the closing stages of the 1994 NSWRL season after Phil Gould was dismissed, and served for seven seasons until he was himself sacked from the position after the 2001 NRL season, when the Panthers won the wooden spoon.[7] The Panthers made the finals twice under Simmons' tenure."
"Simmons was named to take over the coaching position at St Helens in 2011,[9] and parted company in March 2012\. [10] Simmons was sacked after a five game losing streak."

Also the '05 win which I'd put down largely to a good injury free run, Tim Sheens and a tonne of good players. Besides that, 03-09 he was at the tigers and only made the finals in 05\. Came back to Tigers in 2012 and…you know the rest.

Compelling argument put forth stevetiger…bravo

Some people only see 17 names, a coach and the final scoreline
