Got the word last night from someone very much in the know that Matt Giteau wants out if his contract if he doesnt get any wold cup time.
He tells me that Giteau has already spoken to 2 clubs (Canberra and Wests) about next year and Canberra cant get him under the cap but apparently the Tigers can work him in there some how.
We wont know until after the world cup but what a great half back he would make if Lui is going to Brisbane.
This is my first ever post on this site because I have never had anything to report but I trust this source as he would be in the know for sure.

Good on you for joining and sharing the info Meeky.
Just don't let some of the possible reply's put you off mate. It's all good.

It's an interesting option but I would of thought that Wests would of had there own cap issues!?

Meeky I don't want to shoot you down , but isn't Giteau going overseas to play Rugby next year . Either France , Japan or Italy I was sure I saw a story .Just confirmed it Giteau has signed a 700 000 Euros a season deal to play with Toulon in France next year A million to 1 he will be playing in the NRL next season I reckon

Yeah I couldn't find the link but I'm pretty certain he's already contracted to play union overseas next year.

He's going to France

Giteau is off to France. This ARU signing could be the young bloke carving up Sydney Club rugby (Dan Gardiner), but who knows….

That's an interesting proposition. Giteau was engineered out of the Wallaby fly half position, largely by the media, who decided that he was almost solely responsible for the Wallaby's ongoing poor performances. The progress of Wade Cooper then saw Giteau played out of position at 12, where he had neither the size nor durability to make the position his own.

Giteau would make an excellent RL 5/8\. He runs good lines, has a great step, very good left and right hand passes and more than an adequate kicking game. His defence is pretty impressive for a guy his size. Most importantly he would have much more time and space in attack than he has in Rugby.

All wishful thinking though, if the French Rugby reports are accurate.

I know Gitts, he is zero chance of playing in the NRL next year.
Would be a sensation in the NRL, but wont happen, he be playing for half the cash

Would've been better than signing Cross.
But untrue, oh well….
Wait for the next rumour.

Ryan Cross is looking at signing with an English Union Side. Just needs a work visa.

Does anyone know if we are talking to Daniel Vidot. Definitely a player we need. Pace and size.

I remember Ron Giteau playing centre for the mighty Western Suburbs magpies in the early 80's. A very solid player.

Definitely committed to France for next 18mths,his return to NRL vs ARU will depend on whether DRobbie Deans is still coaching the Wallabies…they dont get along.
Giteau has gone backwards in the past few years, with coaches at both the Force & Brumbies adding nothing to a reputation that only 4 or 5 years ago had him ranked as one of the top 5 Rugby players in the world.
He's not a playmaker..more an evasive runner with good speed, but is a little too small to be a centre in Rugby or NRL for that matter.
Dont think we'll ever have the problem, but whilst a talent Im Im not sure what postion he'd actually play in NRL

I thought he had signed a letter of intent to the Brisbane bombers!
