Potential new $ 27 million concord base

Fingers crossed, because I've seen the Carns Hill plans which was an ideal location and that disappeared quicker than Wade Graham's origin chances

It would be a win win situation for all parties

Wonder who would be putting up the funds though and how that would affect us long term ??

Be great if it gets off the ground, but it is funny how we were being fed that South West of Sydney is our future and now we do a u turn

Is this Harry's parting gift??

Is he dying? Bit morbid Eddie!! Lol
An article a few weeks ago made it sound like it relied heavily on his bucks.
Didn't sometime here name it ' the harry triguboff center for average footballers' or the like? ?

Sorry, he is fine as far as I am aware

but you know what i mean.

Some people have been begging him for years and now this appears (seemingly from no where) ??

I would assume it's Government funded which means it could be a meaningless election like people were saying the one at Ctown was. Regardless if this goes ahead and it is Government funded, hopefully that kills off the pathetic "uncle Harry" crap. Won't hold my breath though.

First liverpool, then cambo now concord.
Must be election time.

Way, too much of a co-incidence for me. :unamused:

Don't trust politicians :smiling_imp: :imp: one bit. They promise so much and deliver so little.
For example, they promised in the lead up to to the last election, that the end of the F3 Newcastle to Raymond Terrace by pass, would be built by 2016.
As soon as they got elected, they re nigged. **Gutless pathetic liars.**
They could not lie straight on an autopsy table.

Also what about the positioning of the exhaust fans for the proposed under ground car tunnel ?

I think its a great proposal. :master:
Getting it actually built is another thing all together.

Completely off topic but that's a great song in your signature mate!

Back on topic, hope this comes true & would be another massive step in the right direction for the club. Although anyone else think it's strange building this 10 mins down the road from Olympic park?

GNR, Harry has been very generous to the club and makes it clear his involvement is through Balmain. If he can be on board to assist with the Centre of Excellence and new HQ at Concord (which is near the power base of Wests Ashfield), it is a big win for all parties.

If this ever comes to fruition, it could be it could be the biggest impetus to our club succeeding going forward.

One thing I don't get is where West Harbour fit in all this.
They use Concord Oval too, are we kicking them out or will they also have access to the facilities?

This is really exciting. I don't know how pie in the sky it is but quotes from Pascoe seem positive.

The perfect place for a rebuild in my opinion.Interesting quote from Pascoe about Concord being a central part of Sydney and easier to attract players and staff. Might ruffle a few feather however I 100% agree with him on this.

This is exactly what I was hoping the Centre of Excellence at Campbelltown would be! I really hope this development gets the green light. Having two great facilities to train at, particularly for junior reps with Wests and Balmain is definitely the way forward.

How is that all going to fit on that lot?

Knocking down the grandstand

Maybe, I'm just trying to think of the last time I was there, I suppose there's room at the northern end of the field as well.

Concord or Liverpool will do me. I'm about to move up the hill so they're both out of the way for me now

The story in today's telegraph said that the centre of excellence in conjunction with Western Sydney university at Campbelltown is still going ahead for the junior and elite program.

“If I was a player and I was looking at some of our competitor’s facilities and looking at our current facility I would be second guessing whether or not I am going to be improving my football,” Pascoe said.

That statement tells me a lot about the man he is. Seems like a man who calls a spade a spade.

This is one of the most promising proposals so far. I hope the state govt steps up!

I thought concord was planned to be used during the westconnex construction tho?
