Potter re-signing tonight/tomorrow

Such an illustration of how poor Potter and Bennett are universes apart.

Potter is doing a decent job with a former struggling team, paid peanuts and is not guaranteed of a job beyond 2014 and under constant media scrutiny.

Bennett is doing a rubbish job with a struggling club, team should be doing much better, but he has had 3+ clubs lining up to pay him near to 1 million per year. He chooses Broncos and also appears to have the ability to choose his own CEO.

I know Bennett earned the right to be in his position, but judged on just the last two years (all Potter has to go by in the NRL), Bennett is not doing any better.

what I would love to know , but I doubt we ever will. did potter change the way he was playing the game to a more positive approach knowing that the his job was on the line. really we have not played that way at all this season and please don't say its because of injuries or some other B.S, what we seen on sunday was a completely different way to what potter said he would play on joining. so if that's what he can come up with not just for a one off game but week in week out yes resign him BUTS LETS SEE HOW IT UNFOLDS FOR 2-3 WEEKS 1ST.

that seemed almost identical to how we demolished manly and south sydney, just we had a few more things going for us like a very dry ground, refs decisions and luck.

we went straight up the middle, held the ball and executed well in attack. Although our set plays have obviously become a lot better.

Since day dot here, Potter has said that the team had to earn the right to play with flair. That never meant he was trying to remove it from our game, but rather focus it within the attacking quarter. Blind freddy could see we were chancing our arm deep in our own half, the only percentage football we were playing was low-percentage football in the past…

Stop believing anything and I repeat ANYTHING that you read on the so called Social Media.

Wait to you hear it from the club.

Didnt 2ue say the club was to table a offer?? That is a long way from resigning with the club. Usually that is the start of the process and if Potter jags a few more wins his price and demand will go up. I suppose the ace the club has up its sleeve, its not to often a rookie coach gets a roster with so much promise to work with.

Time will tell but their are a few clubs that need a hard task master to rebuild their clubs, so I do not doubt their could be some demand out their for our man

By my reckoning there are 3 possibly 4 Clubs looking for a coach next season Us Dragons Knights and Warriors…

Potter would be a good fit in any of those...I hope for our sake he wants to continue to develop what he started and those making the decisions at the Wests Tigers can see this also

Given what's gone on recently in media I would't blame the bloke if he looked at all his options...

Last year Bennett took a team full of misfits and losers to within one game of the Grand Final. Not a bad effort considering what he had to work with. You can't compare Bennett to ANY other NRL coach.

Mick has done a fine job in rebuilding the team and made some unpopular and tough decisions. Even got rid of Ayshford (who has turned out to be one of the worst buys of the season for the Sharks). He may not be the most popular bloke, but popularity doesn't win football matches.

If Potter gets the chance to stay he'd be mad to knock us back. Our squad has enormous potential for future greatness. :sign:

Yeah, but an extension of a year is a joke. I hope he moves on for his sake if that's what's on offer. There's too many people with stars in their eyes thinking we'll get through this year and then next year we take it out or go very close to it. In reality, that might happen if the stars align and we have some luck along the way, but expecting massive things from a team so young is really wishful thinking. I think the board expects results immediately and if not now, then next season. Well, I think we might be waiting a little longer for massive success.

If Potter signs, Irvine please go and join Ricky Stupid in Canberra. You bag everything, answer nothing. Stupids style will suit you.

Don't want to seem too ignorant, but who is Irvine? He/she gets the odd mention here but I don't know who it is.

To answer your question. Irvine is the "anti-potter". I think he's male. Only comes on here when things go pear shaped. Someone tally his posts and about 90% were cheap shots at Potter.

I emailed John Gibbs tonite, asking about last nights statement.
He read my email and tonite said _"He will be offered a contract extension in the near future"_

Seems like my plan has worked. It's kinda like Blocker telling Farah he was not good enough to play SOO.

I will be very very very happy if Potter proves me wrong.

So good to hear! I really like what he has done especially if you think about everything he has done since he got here. I really can't see how anyone else could have done a better job really. When he got here I had a sad feeling inside with where we were at, and now what 2 years later it's so so exciting!!! I don't want anything to change for the next couple of seasons please!

potter has been hanging on your every post this season. he's throwing a party next week to celebrate his redemption in your eyes.

Dont make the thread about the troll

Its about the coach.

Lets hope hes re-signed soon, consecutive wins over his old clubs in two weeks would be good

And now tonight John Gibbs has back-flipped 180° saying things have changed dramatically in the last 24hours
Hes now saying Potter is on shaky ground and Kidwell is the favourite to take over.

I just dont see how this could be possible, but funnier things have happened, I would imagine Gibbs is just guessing like everyone else, but if Potts was to fall I would rather Kidwell than Payten to take over the wheel.
