I have no dog in this fight, however, I do know Mike Bailey whom I met a very long time ago when he was with Western Suburbs. A nicer man you would not meet and has always had the best interest of the club at heart.

IMO no matter what coach we bring in, whether it be Craig Bellamy, Geoff Toovey or Ivan Cleary, our current roster is not capable of mixing it with the best. Lack of experience, poor attitudes, small statures and egos are what we need to fix in our 17 each week.

POTTERS FUTURE IS WITH CENTRE LINK, his lack of structure has let him down badly and how he kept faith with Rowe in the side was the last straw for me. To think he could have moved Nofo , Simona or even Paddy to fullback and given Korro a game, and we would still have some outside backs instead of 2nd rowers, u shot ur self in the head Mr Potter.

@bptiger,if Potter goes to centrelink,he will have a lot of players and admin people going with him,if he has no structure with what he had to choose from then heaven help us if Kidwell and Paynton are our saviours…remember second tier salary cap was exhausted and he had little chose really, Rowe was someone who he thought was worth ago to see what he can do..finally if Potter had a full fit squad I dont think Rowe gets a look in.. :wink: :wink:

Said it a million times, we have to get head office in shape and our playing roster sorted before any coach will make a difference.

Okay the coach may be able to fast track making the necessary retrenchments and recruitment's but we are going nowhere till the people who pull the strings have the same goals

Reading the weather mans comments really points to it being one of the three people we have at Concord now.Cant see how they could go through a interview process and come up with a new coach by early September. So one would think it has to be one of three people.

I also get the vibe that money is probably restricting where they can actually look for a new coach, one would think most coaches would want plenty to take on the challenge of getting the Tigers back on track.

Incompetent fool and nice guy are two very different concepts. I have never met the guy thought can see that he probably is a nice guy. Lets be real though nice guy is not on the list of 'Critical requirements' or 'must haves' on the position description of chairman

Incompetent sounds harsh. Having said that, competence can only be assessed vs the requirements of a position. So first Mikes competence needs to be assessed against what is required of a chairman.

Perhaps some context on the role of a chariman may help us assess his competence

Critical requirements:
*Ability to lead and manage the other board members
*Previous applicable experience such as leadership or functional expertise which will add value to the direction of the organisation
*Proven track record - only the best become board members
*Successful experience similar organisation

So, relative to the role Mike it is unlikely that we would assess him as competent. Thus the oppositive of competent becomes applicable.

So that leaves us with the word fool. A tough one as it is used with venom above. However a fool is merely someone that make foolish decisions frequently. The decision to be a chairman of a major football club without fitting the critical requirements of the role feels like a foolish decision. Many of the things that have come out of the Tigers feel like foolish decisions. .

I am confident he has good intentions. I am confident that many people have the best of intentions. Unfortunately intentions and performance are not closely correlated.

Next time, lets hire on something other than nice guy and good intentions.

I've been told that both Potter & Payten will get the chop and Kidwell will get the gig .
