Potters ultimate integrity..

Hey, MacDougall, if "there's just no salvaging the broken relationship between ALL the parties at the club right now", who else should be shown the door?

If it's just Potter who gets the chop and other self-indulgent, self-interested contributors get to stay, why will 2015 be any different?

The answer can't be the new board because if they can fix that lot up, why couldn't they include Potter in the fix?

I hope he is reappointed and if it's Grant Mayer's recommendation that he be replaced, then I hope the new board gives HIM the boot instead.

Potter won't, but should have the chance to take us to the verge of the top four next year. The same crap was going on last year, despite the now quiet protestations of innocence.

Unless the new board members use their stilettos and firmly put the boot into he whom is both the best and worst for the team, it is likely little will change.

Coach Potter thanks for the memories ,for what ever reason it has not worked out for you but have handled the situation with dignity and a lot better than other certain types.
Good luck in the future unfortunately self interest is a curse and many within the club are cursed with it right though the ranks .It is better to leave with your dignity as this is the true indication of a man ,others could only wish they were.

Very good point and something that concerns me greatly
One of the worst of those self indulgents is here for some years to come

I think in the next couple of weeks we will find that Karma has entered the confines of Concord ….it works in mysterious ways .

Interesting that, when interviewed, Potter lets Mayer and Farah off the hook but "there’s other people out there that make it really tough to do this job."

I believe the players dislike Potters methods. I also believe that they didn't compete to the best of their ability in the last 6-7 weeks so as to ensure their Coach's tenure would end. That thought actually sickens me to my stomach but I believe it to be true. Potter may or may not be a good Coach but he has handled himself with a more class than Robbie and the players

I am inclined to agree with this post, I too have been wondering if they hadn't been playing at their best in order to end Potters tenure at the club.

I said in another post recently that I felt Mick Potter deserved a gold medal for hanging in there :master:
. So three cheers for Mick :righton:

I've said it before but if the new board are worth their salt, after everything that has gone down, they will give the coach, whoever it may be, their full & absolute support.

They really should get a new coach & CEO now. They must be firm but fair in all their decisions. If a player doesn't like the new setup then the board backs the coach. Stand them down or get rid of them - just be consistent.

That's the only way to change our current piss-poor culture. We are a laughing stock and THAT must change.

Sorry but Potter has to go … He failed to get the players support and respect and the result was two years where we finished closer to last than first. Time to move on.

Woods and Farah's form dropped since the State of Origin. Potter's a class act and have my support. If Potter goes, so should Mayer and Farah should be ashamed of himself. He could have put things to rest by saying 18 months ago, that was his opinion, since then it has changed the coach deserved his support. When Tallis broke this news, it should not ahave affected him to that extend. We all have our opinions, however it is also our prerogative to change them, that's what life is bout, when we realised things are different. Potter deserved to be trated decently, he deserved another chance after what the WT did to him. I am sure he can improve on the current year's results.

We were only two wins from making the 8 and we improved by 3 wins on last season.

Potter is the man to take the club through the next couple of years as the club transitions at board and administration levels. He has a track record in these circumstances.

If he is upsetting certain players…....good.

Does anyone other that 'Telltales' honestly believe that an entire team on the verge of making the finals would throw away all the hard work they'd done and as a result the season just because they didn't like the coach? Lunacy.

I agree with LCA;

I also agree with Gary Bakerloo;

Add to that some of the juniors are happy with his coaching and development.

As one of the greatest and most successful Chinese Warlords said "If you don not have the support of your people, you have nothing".

All good leaders inherently attract the support of their people who will follow them to the end; you can be the best coach, but if you can not lead your players they will not play for you.

The difference here though is that it is possible to get rid of the people not willing to follow!
What is required from those in the position to determine the outcome of what has become a fiasco of a coaching dilemma (i.e. the Board), is whether the coach is more important than those unwilling players, or whether the players are more important than the coach - if indeed the rumours of player disenchantment is true.

Very good chance Mick will be our coach for next year. He really hasn't set a foot wrong in his first NRL job. I hope the new board extend his contract. The man deserves it after all the c..p he had to put put up with. On top of that he's all class.
