Seyfarth was strong , was very good
Was a good hit out , I just hope we have some better plays when we get inside the oppositions 20 ,
Got a lot of players trying out for a centre spot

Short turn around for Hunt to play a trial.
In the main season he will get 2 bursts especially if May & Pole play good minutes.

Latu is a lock for main utility no 14
AD is one center and kicker tonight he's 5 out of 5 plus a 40/20

I couldn’t watch but based on tgr hype I just expect to hear he played well.

The other two I’m not sold on. NSW Cup players at best.

I like Mason. Think we could move Bula to the wing and think it would actually suit him. Tall guy on the wing that can leap high. Not like Lobb though. He’s shit.

Listening to fox youd think he shat gold tonight.

Reality Latu and even AD played far better. Not to say they are better players in general, althought I think Latu can be, but tonight it wasn't close.

Kit looking good again, I'd like to see him get game time this year. I find it interesting that people wrote him off after his one first grade game a couple years back, because I actually think he had a good stab at it on debut

Agree. He showed good leg speed and ran hard on debut and it’s carried over. He was good in both trials.

Loved Bird’s attitude and on field presence, just worried there could be a few hot headed moments between him, seyf and Terrell. His interview also seemed a bit odd to me, idk exactly what put me off tho

I know it’s only a trial, but…..It’s hard to not to feel enthusiastic about some of those young guys. However, it seems inevitable that we will lose a couple of them. Guys like Mason and Latu are too god to be fill in players.TDS at least as a path to FG, the other 2 don’t. It’s a shame too, cos Mason has really grown on me. He’s such a goer. Idk why we don’t look to play him in the centres. I think he’s too good to be left out of the 17.

Galvin is only 18-19..he is just a ball of energy and tbh he makes better decisions than Reece Walsh. Walsh is 3 years older.

I think Galvin should be 5/8th. Fainu 14. ....... For this year anyway

For this year yes. He does have close the speed of Walsh and never will. A true talernt for sure but he won’t be playing 5/8 in three years time if we have a premiership window 🙏🙏

2 weeks in a row good of direct play with good discipline. The defensive resolve on our goal line wasn't as good as last week, but still got the win. There's been a big shift from last year, and so far it been good

The plays will change with API at hooker. As soon as he is there the whole defensive structure shifts inwards.

Didn't notice Seyfarth or Toa at all tbh.

Really need that right 2nd row sorted. Seyfarth isn't it for me sorry. Depth for sure. Not first 17.

The only foward that went backwards was our captain and i like him. Bent in half many times. May and Royce not once

Coach Ryles looked rattled in the box

Multiple times shown on screen and did not look like he was having a good time

Expect a few Bellamy impersonations in the sheds from him this year

Lots of positive take aways. Our front row rotation looks damaging, May and Hunt looked good.

Bird brought energy and I think off the bench lock suits our play well.

Galvin didn’t “hog” (even though I didn’t see it as too much of a problem last time) with a more vocal half - picked his moments better.

Latu I think gets 14 when Api is back, there is so much raw talent there it’s too hard to leave out.

Skelton is one of our best buys so far, just what we needed.

However, to be critical - our 5th tackle options are still an issue, we look to just make it up on the spot trying to score each time. Sometimes, like tonight, these come off and you get the W but it won’t happen against the full strength, superior teams. Hopefully Luai addresses this.

Barely noticed Starford Toa - needs to inject himself more when coming out of our end. Still not sold on him first pick centre if Olam is out.

Overall - with additional players still to come, we are looking on the up!

Seyfarth needs work in his tackle technique, he really needs to use his shoulders and hit legs more, he loses every wrestle when he tries to lift the upper body up .. I get really really frustrated watching him lose the wrestle and seeing them offload because they have no fear of being hit or tackled hard
