QLD team 2018

If they have brought Milford in you have to assume that Inglis may go back to fullback and Morgan into the centres , Milf on the bench

Just my view , big risk SOO Game 1 taking Ponga in

I'd be interested to see how they lined up in training the past few days …...

After NSW picked Roberts and Mitchell i just cant see QLD changing up Inglis. Inglis and Chambers are the perfect answer to shut down those two boys.

Morgan to fullback Ponga/Mybe or milf to bench.

Morgan is playing crap ..I would throw Ponga straight in at fullback the guy has the goods and is all class ,has the temperament for the job no use playing games .

I heard he was practicing sliding in with his knees in a tackle at training and did a hammy .

NSW would want to win this series now

I am guessing the comments /betting on the Post Sunday Matty Johns show about taking the NSW 3-0 and 13 + every game at $ 29 was very ambitious and very condescending

Not really Ink , just think NSW are taking it for granted QLD are just going to rollover and play dead and the lack of SOO experience in the NSW forward pack might lean Game 1 back to 50/50 contest

I can't see a NSW series blowout

**Maroons Statement: Billy Slater out for Origin 1**

Billy Slater has today confirmed he will not play in the opening match of the Holden State of Origin series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground due to a hamstring injury.

"I didn't pull up as well as I would have liked after our training run on Sunday, and because I'm not 100 per cent, it's in my best interests as well as the team's to withdraw from Wednesday's game," Slater said.

Maroons coach Kevin Walters will consult with selectors and senior players before deciding on the final make-up of the side closer to kick off.

He confirmed Anthony Milford and Kalyn Ponga will join the Maroons squad in Melbourne tonight.

"We knew we had some concerns with Billy, but he's a champion player and we needed to give him every chance to play," Walters said.

"We've had plans in place to cover Billy if he didn't come up right, and we've actioned that today with Anthony and Kalyn coming in."

I never heard of Toxic Shock Syndrome affecting the hammies before.
Tough luck Bill.

Dylan Napa
Jarrod Wallace
Josh Papalii
Coen Hess
Jai Arrow
Gavin Cooper
Felise Kaufusi
Josh McGuire

I think people are so caught up in the NSW rookies that they havent had a good look at that pack.

Its an outstanding young pack, guys like Hess, Arrow and Wallace are born origin players.

Theyll more than hold their own.

The QLD backs can defend the NSW rookies so it might just come down to the halves i think.

All hangs on Nathan Cleary or Munster for mine.
