I don’t understand how Lucy hasn’t been dropped to the bench already, even live at games it’s clear as day he struggles with the defensive work load. Always slow to get back into line, no urgency etc.

I can only imagine Madge had either given him a rocket and a chance at redemption , or there are no capable replacements in reserve grade.

Redemption should be Madges nickname, or maybe Pastor Madge. hell if i know, maybe forgive and forget, because he won't drop or promote. The plan might be to sack the whole cup side, because he doesn't recognise them!

Something is sick in this club. Unless we can get another 3 quality fast backs, we can write off next year,as well as many fans.

Our problem is tackling mate, fast blokes would have got back to half way quicker and we would have conceded 90 points.

Quality backs don't open up like a clam in the sun. Seriously mate, the backline is terrible. Name me one player in the three quarters that would be signed by another club on their current money in their 1st gde side.

Doueihi and Noff would both be picked up by other clubs. The defensive issues we have are a result of a lack of line speed (attitude), and desire (playing for each other) right across the park. Other teams shouldn’t be able to just shift the ball effortlessly on tackle one or two, you are supposed to earn that right. The bulk of the tries against Melbourne were around Luciano and his centre but the guys inside them need to be working harder too. It’s over simplistic to just blame the guys who are standing out wide.

I agree with the fact that it was not just the guys inside. The forwards must share some of the blame. But it's as plain as the nose on your face,that sides find it easy to attack the Tigers edges. We have to stop overating some players. Laurie is not yet a top class FB, but great potential somewhere. AD is a good footballer who is hindered by his lack of speed. He has only played a few games at centre, 2 were ok and1 was terrible, his defence is poor. At 5/8 he was overated and stunted the attack. Nouffa has gone backwoods, JTJ has not shown anything much in attack, and bad in defence. JL will be gone,Mbye plays without heart.

Laurie isn’t top class yet you are spot on but that’s not a knock on him, that’s a nod to the class of FB’s around, it’s the best position group I have ever seen in 40 odd years watching the game.

There’s a footy player in Noffa, just needs to get his head in the game.

tough one considering our depth, but I'd blood Pauga at centre, start Blore and bring Tuilagi onto the bench and probably put Roberts on a wing. Fitzgibbon isn't anywhere near the finished product, Gebbie is playing third grade and I'm unsure how Cooper will go at NRL level.

Doueihi would need to be showing me improvement in key areas at training to get another go at 6, hopefully he is getting that opportunity.

The ball never got past Douehi when he was at 5/8th - a big fan but if he plays there again he needs to learn when to pass the ball.

I’m hoping with this team named that Jimmy on the left might help him next to brooks , even though I know it’s not his preferred side .

And AD, Luci , Mbye , Nofa , might get thier act in gear . Nofa is the one though. He looks infinitely better defensively on the left . And the right looked better with him removed as well.

I think on one of the podcasts about the tigers , they mentioned that they changed defensive structures , and some of the more intricate details were hard to teach mid season. Hopefully with these 2 weeks , they really , really worked hard on these .

Then why was he selected to play Storm. Surely it's a coaches failure.


Desperation.. pretty sure he played with loads of pain and needled up.

Yet Tommy still puts his hand up for the toughest of runs and gets bagged mercilessly for his efforts as a result. For mine one doesn't ask relatively inexperienced youngsters to take the field against any opposition with injury, let alone a top team.

The most troubling part this end has been having four forwards on the bench and no plan to utilise our edges effectively whilst often getting burnt through there.

Madge is being really protective of the young up and comers....he is letting the top 17 blokes wallow in their own crap to face up to their poor useless reputation as NRL players,let them make themselves and the team look better by working hard for the next few weeks and gain some sort of redemption...
